Thibs has played people who didn't need to play late in games all the time. It was bound to come back and bite him. You can say "Well this could anytime" but the fact is that it happened when Rose shouldn't have been out there. Thibs played Rose when he was hurt against New Orleans and Charlotte too for no reason. That was stupid and so was this mishap.

 

Rose needed as much playtime to get back in the flow as possible. He did absolutely nothing wrong.

 

The flow was over! There was no flow to the game at that point. They were milking clock. He had at least 3 more games against a vastly inferior team to get back into the flow.

 

Not to mention the fact that he had already played 39 minutes and almost had a triple double. Seemed pretty in the flow to me already. But man that extra minute would have really gotten him in the flow! Have to keep your star player who has had multiple injuries all season long in the game up 12! The score was going the other way!

Yeah, I think Thibodeau is getting unfairly ripped for this. It's not a clear decision to bench him there.

My initial thought was the way he left looked good for the prognosis, but then I thought about Corey Patterson.

Knee cramps really do suck, rare as they are. No way to get rid of them, unlike a normal cramp.
