Rose says he'll play. Deng will probably sit.

Deng underwent an MRI on his sprained left wrist Sunday, results of which were not immediately available. He said late Saturday he didn't think the injury would sideline him for a lengthy period.

Taj will sit, Lucas will probably play, and Noah is a gametime decision.

Deng's injury may be the best thing to happen to us all season.

1) Gives Deng some much needed rest.

2) Jimmy Butler almost has to get some real minutes during this game, which will show Thibs that JB can go out and play a few 4 minute stretches here and there to give Deng some much needed rest.

Hopefully Deng sits more than just this 1 game.

And hopefully Derrick doesn't actually come back tonight.

"We jokingly had a conversation on the plane one day," Carlos Boozer said. "Our biggest problem is we may be too unselfish. What a great problem to have. But think about it: We've got subs who easily can start for other teams. And they've accepted roles because they know they're part of a great team. Our team spirit is about one thing and that's winning.”

"Everybody asks me about my numbers,” Boozer said. “Who cares about numbers? Are you kidding me? We're (15-3). That's the number that matters. A lot of us could be averaging 25 points on another team if we got to shoot 25 times a night. But we're balanced. And all that matters is our record.

"Our leaders are unselfish. Derrick could shoot any time he wanted to. He could be Allen Iverson and shoot 30 times a night. He doesn't. That trickles down to the entire team.”

I love this team.

That's awesome ^^^

Tonight continues the DRose "I'm going to clown every other point guard in the league tour" against Deron Williams.

Rumors coming from RealGM that Deng might be gone a little while. Don't want to miss out on him for long if true but considering how much Thibs runs him into the ground nightly it could be a blessing in disguise.

We could survive that, I'm guesisng Brewer(who's been playing great) would slide into the 3 and Jimmy Butler would finally get some burn. Man these injuries are f' crazy. I have never seen anything like it on a basketball team.

4 of our 5 starters so far will have missed significant time (I'm assuming Joakim misses multiple games too). Who would have thought the only 1 so far to not would be Boozer?

Doubt it. My guess is Brewer starts at the 3. And it's basically he and Korver there til Deng gets back. Hamilton handles the 2G, with the Bulls playing a lot with Rose and Watson together at 1 and 2 or Brewer/Korver together at the 2 and 3.

[expletive]. Per rotoworld:

Luol Deng has not ruled out surgery on his left wrist.

Yikes. Deng is still consulting with doctors, but this injury now appears more serious than the Bulls were originally letting on. Deng is wearing a splint Monday night as he watches Ronnie Brewer start at small forward. The only good news here for owners is that the damage is to Deng's non-shooting hand. For what it's worth, Deng has reportedly told his teammates that he thinks he'll be OK.

It's amazing how many sizable injuries we've had to key players within the first month of the season. Rose, Hamilton, Watson and now likely Deng and Gibson will all miss extended time with injuries.

I fear that we cannot keep winning shorthanded like this, especially on the upcoming 9 game trip with several good teams on the schedule. I mean, its not a big deal to lose a few games while players keep recovering from various injuries, but I'm sure the number 1 seed is a major goal for them, and going on a 3-4 game losing streak could put the team well behind the others currently near the Bulls.

Also, I fear that Deng's injury will hurt the Bulls more than Rose. Rose is clearly the better player, but I feel like having Watson and Hamilton healthy can replace more of what Rose brings than Butler can replace what Deng brings, being a mid range shooter that can shoot off the dribble, catch and shoot off balanced, slash to the lane and play excellent defense over SFs both short and tall. Brewer can play defense really well, but lacks in the other areas. I don't really buy Brewers jump shooting streak to start the season, and as someone pointed out, over the last week or two his shot has really gone south.

Maybe Rose will just have to step up and be more of a scorer than he has been so far this year in Deng's absence to keep us going. That is assuming of course that he is healthy and not going to re-aggravate his toe injury by playing.

Is Scalabrine the least athletic looking non-baseball playing athlete ever?

And him and Asik may be the least aesthetically pleasing looking post tandem in basketball history.

The starters are really playing the last 75 seconds with a 16 point lead?

Yeah it's kind of annoying.

At the same time there's next to no practice time in this season and Thibs wants to get his stuff installed. The offense has soo many more looks this season.
