Did someone forget to remind him that he makes 6 figures now and doesn't have to deal drugs to pay the bills?

What do you think he'd be making selling $30 million of drugs a year?

Just spitballing, but my guess is there will be a few Cowboys or former Cowboys on the list.

I'm also going to guess that one is Leonard Davis and another is Andre Gurode.

we can consolidate the list a bit and just say roy williams

Can't be Williams:

Bears receiver Roy Williams, who played with Hurd for three seasons with the Cowboys, said he was "shocked" by the news.

"It's a situation I don't want anyone to be in, especially a close friend, a teammate that I have been playing with now for four or five years now, especially a guy from Texas with a wife and daughter," Williams said Thursday at Halas Hall. "So, it's tough for me just because I am not into drugs or anything like that. I know it has to be tough for him because he has his family. It's a choice he made and there are consequences with choices that you make."

Man that Walter White is one ruthless son of bitch. Sam Hurd never saw it coming.

Stay out of my territory.

The Roy Williams news is a bit disappointing. I was hoping he too would be getting a quick ticket out of town.

He's only been accused (by himself) of not being involved in drugs, we have to assume until proven otherwise that he is guilty.

This is true. My excitement has returned!

Exactly. It's not like he is going to say "Oh [expletive], he better not rat me out. I buy loads of pot from him. He usually gives me a discount."

if i knew of a place to score a pound of weed for $450 i'd probably be selling the [expletive] too.

Have you never heard of Mexico?

Why, you need some cell phones?

Hurd inquired of the informant at yesterday’s meeting whether he had access to Mexican cellular telephones, because Hurd believed law enforcement couldn’t listen to Mexican cell phones.

Carlos Slim is gangster.

so I do not follow the NFL that much. I do listen to the Score some in the car and watch some Bears football on Sundays. Until he got arrested I had never heard of Sam Hurd.

Until the Bears signed him I had never heard of him, and half the time I saw him this season I thought, "oh yeah, he's a Bear, I forgot about him."

A law enforcement source told Laurence Holmes of 670 that Hurd was one of the top drug dealers in Chicago. Police obtained a list of NFL players who were supplied drugs Hurd and the number is “in the double digits.”

Wow, that's actually pretty impressive. I've gone from laughing at his stupidity to grudgingly giving him respect.

I'm still going to laugh at his stupidity because the idiot KNEW that the Feds were watching him since at least July and he didn't back off or lay low for a while.

I don't think he knew they were watching him, I think he thought he got away with something in July and was now scott-free.

hopefully Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and Greg Jennings

I very much doubt it, but you never know. I just have a feeling once we learn more this story is going to be a bombshell.

the part where an NFL player was positioning himself to be a drug lord, yes. The part where NFL players buy cocaine and pot? Not so much.

With the quantities they're talking, Hurd could likely be the supplier to a double-digit number of NFL players who are also dealing. Busting a ring of pro athlete drug dealers would definitely be a bigger deal than finding a handful of players dabble in coke and/or weed.

A "handful?" Please. Tons of these guys are doing plenty more than "dabbling." At the end of the day whether they get it from a guy like Hurd or outside of the league the end result is the same.
