Things are getting weird in PA. My employer (apparently) is doing a large project for PSU (30 people) and has pulled everyone out of the campus due to the "social and political climate" at the university. Travel to this client is restricted for now.

I am NOT at ALL saying that Cal Ripken is complicit in anything that happened. My comment is pretty much that this story got so far beyond what anyone could ever imagine (and continues to) that you just have to brace for the next impact.

 

Stories about Sandusky raping kids have been out there for a while. Right now the story is Sandusky raped kids and PSU covered it up to protect the brand. That's pretty much how PSU has always treated everything. So no, I wouldn't say this story has got so far beyond what anyone could every imagine. The story right now is pretty imaginable. All those other guys risking their millions of dollars by pimping out young boys in central Pennsylvania is unimaginable.

If the "cover-up in exchange for retirement" story is true, you HAVE to give the death penalty to Penn State. Have to. We've all seen what damage inaction can cause, and inaction by the NCAA here is absolutely inexcusable. It's saying that covering up crimes being committed in your sports facilities by people employed by your athletic programs and also continuing to let those people be associated in any way with your program will go unpunished by the NCAA, and you just can't have that.
