I hate how journalists and TV guys are trying to be football snobs and playing the "if you didn't enjoy that, you can't enjoy good football, it doesn't need to be high scoring to be entertaining or a great game" card.

I love great defense and low-scoring games are fine. But the conservative, unimaginative offenses featuring terrible QB play made that game pretty damn boring.

As an LSU fan, I don't want a rematch with Bama because I'm not sure the Tigers win a second time. That being said, they are clearly the best team LSU has played and likely better than any of the other MNC game contenders.

4 missed FGs and an INT at the 1 that was arguably not an INT. Yeah, I'm not sure LSU would win a rematch either.

Agreed. But those four missed FG's were all over 45 yds. Bama would have been better to have punted and played field position in all but the missed OT FG.

On the plus side of LSU, if they do rematch it would be in the Superdome which would put HFA on the side of LSU.

One was 44 yards. You're not honestly suggesting that Bama should punt from the 27. I don't remember what all the yards to go situations were, but punting from the 27 is never the right answer.

I'm pretty sure one of them was 4th and 4 or 5.

lol at Alabama being #3 in the BCS. Time for a playoff, you [expletive].

If Alabama gets into the title game over an undefeated BCS team, all hell will break loose.

At this point, I'm kind of rooting for that to happen.

I bet it does.

Stanford has the tougher schedule remaining. If they win out, they'll certainly move ahead of Bama, probably after this week if they beat Oregon.

And there's no chance Bama finishes ahead of an undefeated Oklahoma State either.

Exactly. The story is how far Alabama is ahead of Boise and the other 1 loss teams. Stanford will move ahead if they win next week, plus they still have ND and a Pac 12 championship game while Alabama only really has Auburn left.

And also remember that voters may think differently if the possibility of a rematch becomes more real. Michigan initially moved into this same sort of position in 2006, but a couple weeks later Florida suddenly moved ahead of them for no real good reason other than the rematch suddenly was possible when USC lost.

I'm holding out hope for a miracle scenario where Boise State gets in the Championship game, but realistically, I know it's not gonna happen.

Georgia going on a run, while OSU and Stanford lose is clearly the best scenario.

The fact that they basically have no chance to get in is really disheartening. I know they probably wouldn't be undefeated in the SEC, but why even have them in Division 1, then? There is literally nothing more they can do and still have no chance to win a title except switch conferences, which is easier said than done. Why not just go to 3 divisions in football so those schools can actually have a reason to exist? Kids that go to the MAC, WAC, Mtn. West, etc... should at least realistically have a chance to win a title, even if its in a second division of NCAA or something. It's literally the only sport in the world where you can go undefeated and not even have a chance to win a championship in that division. It makes boxing look good. [expletive] college football.

As doubtful as it is, LSU losing in the SEC championship would throw our everything and would be fun to see the reactions.

Or LSU losing to Arkansas.

In totally expected news...Houston Nutt will be relieved of his duties (along with a 6 million dollar buyout check) at the end of the season. Will coach remainder of games though.

According to the Rivals writers, the top candidates expected to replace are Alabama DC Kirby Smart, Auburn OC Gus Malzahn, and Texas DC Manny Diaz.

I'd personally want Kevin Sumlin from Houston.

Stay away from Manny Diaz please! I want to see what he can do given 3 seasons while installing his system. I could see Smart and Malzahn being the front runners. I wonder how committed June Jones is to SMU, though I am not sure Ole Miss is a big enough jump for him to consider that.

It's not just a jump to the SEC but the money Ole Miss throws around is pretty sick. Ole Miss usually hovers around 10th or so in best paying coaching jobs. Nutt for all his incompetence is making 2.8 mil a year.

JoePa may be looking for a new gig next year.

I thought the Pope only left office when he died.
