Well, what Kaplan is saying would make sense given everything we know (Levine and Kaplan both putting their asses on the line and whiffing, Boston ownership being bat-[expletive] crazy, common sense) and what Gammons said yesterday on MLBN about it being "a couple of A-Ball pitchers."

 

Difference is now Levine is saying we're back at square one because Boston is crazy, and Kaplan is just saying that Boston is crazy and lying.

Don's one of those guys who virtually everyone would recognize him if they saw him, but many don't know his name.

 

Really? The guy played one of the most well-known television characters ever. I sure as hell know him.

A baseball source tells ESPN MLB officials have given the Cubs the OK to announce the deal today, with Jed Hoyer of the Padres also soon expected to go to the Cubs as GM.

I'm sure a lot of people would recognize the character. I'm sure most would tell you it's Barney Fife. However, how many people, especially our age (20's-30's) could tell you the actors name?
