As the 6th seed, they'll still have to face the Preds at some point if they can get by Detroit.

Dream scenario:

Sharks (8) beat Blues 1

Hawks (6) beat Stars 3

Wings beat Preds

Canucks(2) beat Calgary? (7)

Hawks beat Wings

Sharks beat Canucks

Hawks get home ice and defeat the Sharks

Only problem is getting the Sharks to play well enough to even make the playoffs much less matter this much.

Steven Montador and I will both be attending the Blackhawks game in Newark tonight. Only Montador will be playing while I will be drinking my face off.

Nice, have fun. This is huge to get him back to help fill in for Keith.

Morrison is scratched, so they'll dress seven D. Probably not a bad call since Montador won't be 100% in game shape and O'Donnell is old.

Toews also skated again today. Gotta think he's close. That's eight days in a row of being on the ice.

[expletive] power play is comically bad at this point. Over a minute of 5-on-3 and NO shots on goal. And none on the rest of the 5-on-4 either.

Kruger just got served the GWG on a platter by Brodeur and couldn't finish. Wow.

Don't mind sharing a point here though, obviously. Just get at least one.

Boo I hate shootouts. Getting 1 point out of the last 4 greatly increases their chances for the 6 seed.

If Nashville loses tonight (losing to Blues right now), the Hawks will be 3 points behind Nashville, and 4 points behind Detroit (DET has game in hand). Most importantly, the Hawks are 6 points up on the 7 seed Dallas/Phoenix (both tied for 7/8 seed) and 7 points up on LA and Colorado who are tied for 9th place.

5 games left guys.

We'll make the playoffs and then we'll see. It's hard to really be excited about this team, but who knows. Will Toews ever play again? Miss seeing him out there.

This team is so streaky that I have no idea what to expect. I wouldnt be surprised if they were swept out of the first round, but I also wouldnt be too surprised if they somehow made the Western Conference Finals. I think the former is more likely than the latter though with our D and goaltending.

Yes. If Craw doesn't find a groove, I'd have to admit we're ripe for a 1st round exit.

It's never a good thing when our P.A. announces a Hawks POWER PLAY and the whole stadium rolls their eyes.

Well, good news bad news on the concussion front. But the good news is way better.

Toews likely back next week.

And after that (apparently inadvertant) elbow he took the other night, Montador is out again with concussion-like symptoms.

Much as I dislike his inconsistent play, I'm really glad we picked up Oduya.

Didn't realize this but the Blackhawks can clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight and a Phoenix regulation loss. 4 straight years of making the playoffs after once in the last ~12 years before that.

I usually goto the bathroom when the Hawks go on a power play since I know there is a 2 minute period when the Hawks won't score.

Wow its horrible to watch. If they can even keep it in their zone for half the power play, I consider that a success for them.
