No ones saying they are, just that they'd prefer to play them over another team. Doesn't mean they can't still lose to the Stars and doesnt mean they can't beat a team like Nashville.

Phone hearing for Dunc. Means it'll be at most 5

Sedin isn't playing tonight and is flying home to see specialists. I've never thought the league should take the resulting injury into account, but I think they do.

Either way, glad it can't be more than five.

was anybody else a little curious why Oduya was given the 3rd star and Kane the 2nd, and no Crawford? Oduya didn't even score that goal and it was obvious in time for the announcement. And Crawford was probably the biggest reason they even had a chance to win.

Yeah, I don't think it was obvious. The goal was announced right after the game as being scored by Oduya, and then they went right into the three stars. That's got to be the reason. As I said and continue to believe, he played a really shitty game last night.

I thought Crawford should have been recognized too.

The entire team was swarming Shaw, and they made the announcement as the players were leaving from behind the net. By that time, the announcers knew and the people watching at home (at least me) realized the puck went in off of Shaw. Then they made the 3 stars announcement. I just thought it was so odd to name him specifically for that goal when we already knew he didn't score the goal and wouldn't get credit for it.

Maybe they didn't name Crawford because he only faced 23 shots? I dunno, but it was clear to anyone watching the game that he made some pretty tough saves and certainly deserved to be one of the 3 stars.

Oduya's shot was heading wide of the net when Shaw deflected it - and I don't think he was particularly trying to shoot it at Shaw's stick, so it was a bit odd that he got the nod but at the end of the day its meaningless.

Under no circumstances should the severity of the injury of the player be taken into account. I agree that the league does and it's frustrating

Should be two games for Dunc and the ginger

I still haven't seen his hit. Tried to find it on YouTube but didn't see it.

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22wQYhn1bhA

Thank you kindly. And having seen it, I am of the opinion that what Keith did was more egregious, but only slightly. Two games for Sedin, three for Keith. Or 1 and 2.

I saw banter on Twitter that Keith's suspension could increase if it was deemed to be retaliation. That makes no sense to me. What Danielle did should clearly be taken into account and should reduce Keith's punishment.

Everyone knows the guy is a bitch. And then he goes and does something like that.

Remember this hit from the playoffs last year?

Alain Vigneault called it a 'good hockey play' but wants the book thrown at Dunc. I hate everything about that team.

Meh, he's not the only coach who supports his own player's dirty hits but wants extreme action taken when his guy is injured with a dirty hit.

Can we please stop with the 'I hope we play this team'?

Stars aren't some cupcake.

compared to the blues, canucks, red wings, and predators they are. those 4 teams are in another class. playing dallas over any of them is a much easier series. why wouldn't you hope we play them?

don't the stars have a negative goal differential?

Clearly you have not seen that red wing team play lately

In the replay, Oduya points right at Shaw as soon as it went in.

Apparently there is confusion now about whether Keith will have a phone or in-person hearing and penalty may be worse.

I'd think they would need to resolve this sooner or later since they are supposed to talk in about five hours.

And I think this has everything to do with how badly Sedin is (or isn't) hurt.

Man, look at how scattered the East is. It looks like they could wind up with a 3 seed (Florida) that is worse than teams out of the playoffs in the West.

The Keith hit looked bad to me. I think he's gone for 4-5 games.

I'm pretty pumped about the East playoffs. Any combination of NYR, Philly, Pitt or Boston, and throw in Buffalo if they get in and the Devils, would make for some excellent hockey.
