It's amazing, I've started to get that 'this is a bigger game than normal feeling' whenever the Hawks have a game on Versus. They've done a good job overall. I enjoy their studio show more than the NHL Networks (although theirs is not that bad). And I'm not sure how people in general feel about Emrick, but I enjoy games that he broadcasts. Part of it is nostalgia from 2010, but its also the overall excitement he brings to the broadcast.

 

I love doc emrick. He made Devils games enjoyable to watch. I think he's better than Foley (who I think lost a little bit off his fastball but is still quite good).

 

Emrick is very good. He is constantly trying to describe the game in different ways, and he really does have a way with words. Although the puck does seem to "rattle around" and "skitter along" a lot more when he calls the game.

 

Objectively, he's probably better than Foley, though Pat has been the voice I associate with the Hawks for almost my whole life.

I don't know of anyone who dislikes Doc Emery. I don't get the hatred for Pierre that hockey fans seem to have though. He's annoying at times but doesn't really bother me.

 

I also agree about NBC/Versus stepping up their game, just wish they could get wider distribution in hotels.

Versus/NBC Sports also has an hour long post game show after every game. Short of having the NHL Network(which I do not have,) it probably is the best thing going on giving a quick shot at the league overall.

 

I like Doc.

It's not that meaningful but is this team a President's Trophy type team?

 

I'm skeptical until a few of the role players step it up, specifically Brunette, Bickell and Frolik. They will be needed when the big guns go cold.

 

But they are fun to watch right now, no doubt.
