Winners in bold. 49ers and Philly should be interesting as well as the Pats and Raiders.

Damn. Detroit vs. Dallas. The game we all used to roll our eyes over on Thanksgiving is actually one hell of a matchup.

Whodathunk?

I, uh, pretty much completely borked that one.

it's ok, we all pull a bum every now and then. the important part is that you admitted your mistake, rather than telling us that your professor assigned a 90 page paper on the cowboys-lions thanksgiving rivalry, and you talked to senator tom delay to get some further information on the subject.

Titans sign Donnie Avery to replace Kenny Britt. I hope Dew enjoys the three healthy games Avery gives them.

I like the move well enough. Nobody available right now is a starter anyway, and Avery has the potential to be pretty good if he can stay healthy. If not, then he provides a bit of depth until he gets hurt and then we cut him for Mardy Gilyard or somebody.

oh, my

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/27/week-three-power-rankings-2/

i had been somewhat worried about this game because of Ware and Spencer and the horror-show Minny's DEs put on our tackles last week, but then i read that Calvin Johnson has as many TDs as Dallas' entire offense

If you're "oh my-ing" about the Lions rank, most rankings that I've seen this week have had them #3. I understand you gotta give them credit for being 3-0, and that's all good. But I'd like to see them play some tough teams.

Dallas has played, according to FO, the #4, #6, and #12 defenses. Detroit has played the #16, #26, and #27 defenses. I know, it's early season stats and all, but still...it's pretty clear that there's a reason the Lions have had so much more offense than Dallas.

wouldn't that be a pretty heavy selection bias? if you're the 4th-highest scoring team, then the teams you've played will obviously grade poorly defensively, and if you can't score, the defenses you've faced will come off looking great

i question @Tampa in 120° heat index and @Minnesota not being tough matchups

Minnesota won 12 games in 2009.

Former Titans OC Mike Heimerdinger died today. Really sad.

wasn't he rumored for the bears job?

I think he might have been before Fisher was fired and Dinger left. He was a really good offensive coordinator.

In about 30 mins, I will be heading to the Death Star to watch the Cowboys-Lions game. This one has me nervous. Cowboys WR are depleted with injuries and the secondary is still banged up. This one is going to be tough.

When was the last time an opposing team was worried about the Lions? Just goes to show they're not doormats anymore.
