Speaking of the Orioles...

http://tracking.si.com/2011/10/29/report-baltimore-orioles-to-return-to-cartoon-bird-logo/

The Baltimore Orioles are reportedly changing their uniforms to get closer to their glory days, according to a report from Roch Kubatko of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, by bringing back a more cartoon-like bird logo.

The Orioles sported a goofy, cartoonish bird logo on their ballcaps from 1966 to 1989, a span that encompassed some of the best years in the franchise’s history. In 1989, the “cartoon bird,” as the logo is generally called, was replaced by what the team’s website calls an “Ornithologically Correct Bird” — that is, a bird that looked more like a bird and less like a comic strip. That bird has undergone a couple of revisions in the intervening years, but has stayed firmly in the more realistic vein.

if i ever bought another team's hat, it would be the old school cartoon orioles hat

A former roommate of mine had an Orioles' hat with the cartoon bird that was defective so that the bird's left eye didn't have a pupil. It was equal parts terrifying and hilarious and I'm still kinda pissed I didn't steal it from him.

Don't think I like the logo.

But. I really like the idea that the Marlins would give up on their insane notion that anyone from Northern Florida gives a flying [expletive] about them.

EXPOS

lol those are literally the 2 I went with. Although I did love the swinging Friar Padres caps. Would never buy them because of 1984 of course.

For the record, the Marlins are still the Florida Marlins. On Nov. 11, they officially become the Miami Marlins.

I can't believe people are actually putting effort into that franchise. People worked really hard on this stuff, and yet it's so bad.

Sort of like watching a preview for a horrible movie. People devoted their lives to it, and yet it's an abomination.

Other than my posts here, I hope nobody ever says that about anything I've worked hard on. Which isn't much.

EXPOS

YES

What was that old expos logo supposed to be, anyway?

an M, E and B.

the white curve next to the veritical blue line are supposed to make an "M" for montreal, while the red "E" and blue "B" stand for expos and baseball, respectively.

I have one of those old school Brewers caps. My sister used to live in Milwaukee and bought me one. It does look pretty sweet tbh.

Yuck. That logo looks like a kindergartener cut it out of construction paper.

That orange uniform clearly takes the place of #1 on the worst current MLB uniforms. That is Pirates ketchup vest bad.
