I've got Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford. I drafted Stafford as a back-up, but he's been really good. Through two weeks Stafford has outscored Ryan in my league 50-32. Anybody have an opinion on who's the better play next week and moving forward this season?

Week 3 Match-ups:

Ryan @ TB

Stafford @ MIN

This isn't a sit/start question, but it's also not worthy of its own thread so I'll stick it here.

I lost Jamal Charles for the year in one league, so that leaves my RB situation as: Jahvid Best, Dexter McCluster, Delone Carter, and Montario Hardesty. My receivers are Fitzgerald, Santana Moss, Steve Johnson, Kenny Britt, Johnny Knox, Roy Williams, and Michael Crabtree. It's a 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/Flex, no PPR.

Here's the trade I've been offered:

Moss/Fitzgerald/Knox

for

Blount/Hightower/Tate

I'm tempted to take that trade if he'll swap out Hightower for somebody. He also has Darren McFadden. Thoughts (besides that my RB situation is embarassingly bad)?

I did the same, but have started Stafford both weeks. He could be the best QB in fantasy. Stick with him unless he slows down or gets hurt.

You're giving up the best player by far, so I don't like it. I'd consider Fitzgerald for McFadden.

Yea, my concern is that Blount simply isn't worth Fitzgerald in that scenario. If Britt's production through two weeks is a sign that he's hitting his potential, then Fitzgerald becomes expendable. However, I keep thinking I could get better value for Fitz than Blount.

I'm thinking about something like this:

Moss/Fitz

for

McFadden/Tate

And see if he bites. That leaves me with Johnson/Britt/Knox at WR/Flex and McFadden/Best as my starting RBs.

Flex spot:

Julio Jones @ Tampa Bay

Eric Decker @ Tennessee

I'm a huge Julio Jones fan and he got a crapload of targets last week despite only getting 29 yards. I think he's going to benefit later in the year from playing with Roddy White and will be a pretty solid fantasy WR. Decker, on the other hand, has blown up these last two weeks and I'm considering riding the hot hand.

Defense:

Texans @ Saints

Bears vs. GB

Giants @ Philadelphia

Puke. Leaning Giants if Vick is out, but otherwise I have no idea.

Keep an eye on Brandon Lloyd's injury situation. Even if he's playing, if his outlook is negative enough it will likely mean that Decker's hot streak continues. Also, Bears vs GB isn't that bad of a matchup. In 3 games last year, Packers scored a total of 48 points against the Bears, and the game will be in Chicago. I put in a claim for Chargers defense, because they're playing the Chiefs this week. If it doesn't get through, I'm fine playing Chi v GB. If Vick is out, I wouldn't blame you going with Giants D, but Eagles will still be at home and will still have weapons, especially if Young makes it back from his injury this week.

I wanted to hold on to Marques Colston. But should I drop him for Thomas Jones?

Or McCluster

1 more edit: I have Vincent Jackson, Steve Smith, Santana Moss, Devery Henderson, Marques Colston at WR

At RB: Mendenhall, Steven Jackson, Mark Ingram, Brandon Jacobs, Ben Tate

If you decide to drop anyone for a RB from KC, it should be for McCluster. I haven't looked very closely at Ingram, but dropping him for McCluster might be worth considering. Ingram, Pierre Thomas, and Darren Sproles are all viable RBs who will be splitting time this season, but with Charles out and Jones being old and mediocre, McCluster could be the defacto load-bearer, albeit on a terrible offense.

I'm being patient with Ingram. I think his numbers are going to start picking up as the season goes on. Especially when Pierre Thomas eventually gets hurt.

Pick 2

Ben Tate @ NO

Devery Henderson vs HOU

Steven Jackson vs BAL

Mark Ingram vs HOU

Santana Moss @ DAL

I'm riding Stafford until he burns me, but my competition is Big Ben. I'd probably stick with Stafford here too.

Need 2:

Manningham @ Phi

Julio Jones @ TB

M. Floyd v. KC

Woodhead @Buf

M. Bush v. NYJ

didn't Manningham sustain a concussion? i'm inclined to say none of the above, but go with the first two, if i have to pick

Brady, Brees, Rodgers and maybe Rivers are the only QBs i'd rank higher than Stafford on a weekly basis

Floyd is fighting off a groin injury right now and is in doubt for this week. Considering the Chargers are playing the Chiefs, they probably aren't going to need to rely too heavily on him. I'd say Julio Jones and whoever else looks to get playing time.

Frank Gore (@ Cin)

Ben Tate (@ NO)

No PPR

Gore has been pretty rough this season, Bengals have been decent against the run, Tate has been solid, and Foster's setback will probably lead to Houston erring on the side of caution with him. I'm leaning toward Tate. Is that dumb?

I'd ride the hot hand, and know that Buffalo/NE will likely be a high scoring game while TB/ATL could be a knock down drag out affair.

This week: Fitzpatrick or Romo?

Pick one:

Manningham

Tate

Julio Jones

Cedric Benson

Thanks for the Stafford/Ryan help, guys. I'm going go to with the hot hand in Stafford.

In another league I have Romo as my starter, but he's not 100% going to play and the Cowboys play on Monday night, so I'll have to make a decision about starting him by Sunday at noon. Here are my back-up options:

Orton @ Ten

McCoy vs. Mia

I would definitely wait as long as possible to see if Romo is going to play or not. Those other options suck. I guess I'll have to be ready to put Flacco in for him, just in case, but it seems like he's going to play.

What's up! Long time no see.

For the QB situation, you're probably better off at least waiting to see what's going to happen with Romo, but you said yourself you're planning on the Buf/NE game being high-scoring. You also know that if Buffalo's going to have any prayer of winning, they're going to need to do it with a shootout, which should keep Fred Jackson from stealing so many yards.

For the other option, Manningham is in Philly, and he's coming off a concussion and may not even play. If your league isn't PPR, Tate could be the better option. If it is, Tate may still be the better option, but Julio Jones may be worth the look too.

Well, with Charles gone (RIP) I need two out of this group

Tolbert vs. KC

Blount vs. ATL

Best @ Minnesota.

Something about the Best matchup scares me.
