Find a list of the 40 man roster from October 2008 and see if you don't think there were guys that could have been released instead. Obviously it is a hindsight is 20/20 situation because there was nothing to suggest he would be an everyday player at the Major League level. Again, I don't care that they released him, but when Ramriez goes down, the Cubs get very little from the clowns they use at 3rd base in his absence.

Your point is that our 40 man roster didn't have 40 guys who went on to have better careers than McGehee?

As for Wells, like I said, figure out a way to make him better or find someone to replace him. Simply put, I'd like to see the manager have as much angst about Wells performance as he does about mistakes Castro makes.

Your point is the guy pitching poorly should be made to pitch better?

Failing that, we should get a better pitcher?

Find a list of the 40 man roster from October 2008 and see if you don't think there were guys that could have been released instead. Obviously it is a hindsight is 20/20 situation because there was nothing to suggest he would be an everyday player at the Major League level. Again, I don't care that they released him, but when Ramriez goes down, the Cubs get very little from the clowns they use at 3rd base in his absence.

As for Wells, like I said, figure out a way to make him better or find someone to replace him. Simply put, I'd like to see the manager have as much angst about Wells performance as he does about mistakes Castro makes.

Wells was probably rushed back. That's not his fault.

So what? You said it yourself, it's all hindsight. At the time he was claimed there was little, if any reason to bemoan the "loss" of Casey McGehee. There was no room for him at the time, he was an unremarkable minor league player who was already 25, and his very brief time with the Cubs (just 25 PA, granted), was beyond abysmal (.167 .160 .208 .368). It's ridiculous to think what could have been since there's no logical argument to the Cubs going out of their way to keep him at the time he was claimed. The Brewers got lucky, period.

So your complaint is you want Quade making the dumb comments he made about Castro about other players? What the [expletive]? Shouldn't the complaint be "I don't want Quade saying ANYTHING that stupid about anyone?"
