First time the CUBS have given up any runs in the 9th inning in their last 12 games. [sigh]

Go CUBS !!

How many of those were road games where the home team didn't bat in the 9th because they were winning?

Four. Plus, there were 2 more games that we lost in extra innings.

Yeah, great job dishing out a fat contract to a reliever yet again.

I think you have to either sell Marmol or DL him at this point.

Has to be DL. Trading him now is going to be at his least valuable, easily. DL him, hope he can come back strong to finish the year and move him in the offseason.

Any chance Wood or Marshall takes over temporarily?

Haven't they both been pretty bad recently?

Wood's been pretty up and down all season. Marshall seemed to be tiring heading into the break, but before that was pretty incredible. Just one game, but he looked really good tonight. Hopefully he just needed the break.

DL preferably, but one or the other. If the Cubs keep running him out there, his value can go a lot lower.

Last time the CUBS allowed 8 BBs in a game.... Sat 18 Jun 2011 (10 BBs) in a 4-3 loss to NY Yankees at Wrigley

CUBS are 1-4 when they allow 8 walks or more

Go CUBS !!

I say put him in the rotation and make Rodrigo Lopez the closer just to really shake things up.

No, DL is really the only option right now. Trading him right now would be insanely stupid unless a team approaches the Cubs with a good offer, because they're not going to find [expletive] if they shop him.

What I'm saying that the DL is the clear option, but keeping things as they are would be even worse than trading him for a mediocre return. There's something wrong with him, and if this is allowed to keep going, something's really going to give physically, and then we have nothing and have to pay for it.

Yeah, don't boo Wood, you [expletive] morons. He's white, so it's not his fault. [expletive] meatballs.

wut?

When Quade finally pulled Wood he barely got a smattering of boos, despite reloading the bases and giving up 2 more runs himself. There's a pretty clear distinction between who gets really booed at Wrigley and who doesn't. Shitty white players rarely get anything close to what the non-white ones get when they [expletive] up.

That's why I said the DL is the only option.
