I guess you never really hate it when its your own guy, so I had no idea that Marmol was lumped in with Valverde and K Rod.

One thing thats always bugged me is how its OK for closers to do their little happy dance, or pitchers in general to get pumped up when they get out if a jam, but anytime a hitter celebrates or admires a home run, the pitchers get their panties in a bunch.

Isn't this just a one off thing? Yon man at the bottom looks like he's taking evasive action, which presumably doesn't always happen.

Valverde is hilarious. I really wish the game had more celebrations like this. And yeah, it's [expletive] that hitters can't show off.

Valverde is the worst I've ever seen. Easily. This totally anecdotal, but relative to the "average" celebration in the various sports, Valverde might be the most over the top celebrator there is right now. I'm surprised more of his teammates haven't been drilled because of him.

Most guys are tolerated by the fans of their team, but if he was a Cub I'd still be really put off by him. For everyone else, it's blood boiling.

Marmol isn't passive, but I'd have put him more in the "fist pumper" group.

yeah it's really easy to dance around like a buffoon when you don't ever have to pick up a bat. try that [expletive] when you're a starting pitcher in the NL and have to face 95 mph fastballs from opposing teams you've pissed off.

I have seen Big Z with some celebration after getting out of a jam, but I don't think he applies here. I can't imagine any sane pitcher intentionally throwing at that guy.

I sure remember Broxton getting pretty pumped when he got a save against the Cubs this year (probably has last save LOL)

Also, doesn't Papelbon usually dance an irish jig?

Flawed list.

I'm all for celebrations and what not when a guy gets out of a jam or closes a 1 run game or something but some guys celebrate like madmen when they close a 3 run lead against the bottom of the order and that, usually (unless your in a pennant race or it's the playoffs or something) looks pretty dumb.

Over the top celebrations don't really bother me although there are times when I laugh because the guy looks like a jackass.

contrary kyle strikes again

I think it's racism that makes people hate it in MLB but love it in the NBA. If Derrick Rose did something like that you guys would all pitch tents.

Well that's ridiculous.

And if Joe Montana had killed his wife and her boyfriend, everyone would have loved him.

Its also racist that I don't like collar greens. Has nothing to do with that I don't like a lot of vegetables.

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.
