Doug Davis is definitely at least a slight upgrade over James Russell, but I don't know if its worth it to double the length of the game for 1 or 2 less runs per game.

Doug Davis is the type of pitcher you can live with for awhile if you have a good offense. Innings eaters are worthless on a team like the Cubs who rarely score more than 4 runs a game.
