I have an acquaintance (a Cards fan) who met Garza at a bar when he was with the Rays, and says he was one of the coolest and friendliest people he's ever met. Apparently Garza BS'ed with him and his friends for a couple hours, like he was just another guy. He said he hated it when he was traded to the Cubs because he couldn't help but root for him.

 

All evidence so far seems to corroborate that Matt is a really cool guy.
