Hahahha their leadoff hitter was 5-5 and they only got 3 runs.

Doesn't help that the manager can't manage the 3-5 spots to save his [expletive] life.

What would you change about it? He moved Byrd down, Pena you gotta think will eventually start hitting for power. And hasn't Soto said he prefers to hit 8th?

Well today the big issue is having a hitter who has a career .674 OPS against righties hitting 4th for you against a righty.

I just looked up his splits to get an exact number...holy crap he has one of the most extreme splits ever. Career .674 against righties, .920 against lefties.

Don't care where he "prefers" to hit (and I doubt he said anything like that, and if it did it was just the diplomatic answer); he's too good to hit that low. Byrd has no business hitting anywhere 1-5. Pena needs to be dropped until he heats up. Fukudome-Castro-Aramis-Soto would likely produce more runs than what Quade keeps running out there.

And yes, I get that Aramis is getting the day off. He needs to be hitting #3 when he's starting.

Oh, I agree with that, I think my 2nd post in this game thread was asking why Baker was batting 4th, especially against a righty. I'm not a fan of Quade, no way should Baker be hitting 4th ahead of Soriano, Byrd, Pena, and Soto, even if Soto prefers to hit 8th. Soto is a damn good hitter and won't get [expletive] to hit hitting 8th, I don't get it.

We're pretty much in agreement

I'd like to see

Fuku

Castro

Aramis

Pena

Soto

Soriano

Byrd

Barney ( i don't think he can keep this up)

Pitcher

Edit: Maybe swap Byrd and Soriano

Pretty much. I'd bat Baker 7th and Byrd 8th if it's a lefty. For the time being I'd drop Pena behind Soto, but I'm pretty confident he'll heat up as the weather does and will merit hitting 4th eventually.
