He could probably go back to SIU after the year with Lowery most likely gone but with the way he acted tonight he'll be lucky to get a coaching gig in Poland.

Purdue fans am I right, did Hummel win all 4 years he played in Champaign?

Nah he lost his sophomore year.

Actually, Hummel sat out that game when he had his back problems I believe.

So who do the Illini go after? I've seen names like Shaka Smart and Anthony Grant thrown out, what other enticing candidates are out there? Gregg Marshall is compelling, but hasn't won enough at Wichita State to merit a jump to a high major like Illinois.

He took a Winthrop team from nothing to an 11 seed his final year. They almost immediately went back to crap.

This year's Wichita team is 9th in Pomeroy rankings and was entirely recruited by him.

I still want AG though.

Illinois can't have Gregg. I love him too much.

He made VCU, and then took a stagnant Bama team and made them pretty damn good. They're not going to look great by the end of the year, but that'll be because he suspended like half his team.

And he's doing it with one of the youngest teams in the country.

Weber's postgame: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=V8KddpKgT2Q#!

Damn, he completely knows he's a dead man walking. Blasted the [expletive] out of Leonard.

From an outsider's perspective I agree with SSR. If I were an Illini fan I would prefer Grant and probably Marshall. I'm a little leery of a guy whose only head job was inheriting a really good mid-major team and sustaining it. Granted, he elevated them in terms of the tournament last year but they were also very fortunate. If I were Illinois I would want someone who built something in multiple places or at least elevated the program at more than one spot.

I can't believe he would trash his best player. So out of character for him.

Bruce Weber: recruiting lottery picks and coaching them up to be Turkish League All-Stars

Penal League All-Stars too.

Except he's recruited maybe two kids who would have ever been thought to be lottery picks while at Illinois. Meyers and Jereme. Which one of those guys is playing in Turkey?

After last night's conversation about Byrd, this cracked me up.

After complaining to an official that he was fouled, the Illinois 7-footer (9 points, 12 rebounds) received a stare from 6-foot-4 Purdue wing D.J. Byrd, who said to Leonard, "You're soft, baby."

The guy who doesn't enter the arc on offense is calling other people soft.

How bout that Paint Crew performance last night?? EPIC

He shoots plenty from inside the arc, he's not Ryne Smith. Also, how about the Orange Krush having half their seats empty for a must win game?? EPIC

You won't get this cause you had Gene Keady around forever, we want our terrible coach with his terrible offense gone.

I understand that, it's just kind of strange to take a shot at the Paint Crew who traveled to a road game when your own student section is bailing on your team.

I'm just suprised you guys weren't any louder. I couldn't hear them at all.

The only reserved section for the Krush is the floor. The rest get bumped up to C section. You have no idea how many Krush no-showed.
