So apparently the Indiana Elite AAU team lost in a tournament this morning and Ron Patterson (2012 IU verbal) threw a fit and tweeted that he is looking for a new AAU team. On the Indiana Elite team he is playing with the other 2012 IU kids Yogi Ferrell, Hanner Perea and Jeremy Hollowell. A bit disturbing that he would even talk about bailing on his future teammates. :-k

By time 2012 rolls around, half of them will have been recruited over, so it's not that big of a deal.

He's a kid who made a mistake. He'll be back.

Looks like Billy Kennedy will be the next coach of the Aggies. I wonder if Spinelli stays around on his staff or if he joins Turgeon at Maryland. Either way, the most important thing is that our two 4-star recruits said the other day that they will stick to their commitment. That was my biggest fear about Turge jumping ship.

Didn't signing day pass like a month ago?

Yes, but they would have been given releases from their LOI's due to the coaching change had they asked for them. All 3 of Maryland's signees have done so. Turgeon will have to re-recruit those guys if he wants them.

Or not. Ron's going back to Indiana Elite One, the team he was on last year. There is a slim possibility that Gary Harris will join Indiana Elite/ Team Indiana in Las Vegas this summer.

Edit: What he said.

Bobby Capobianco, aka the Vanilla Gorilla, is leaving IU.

No real surprise here. I would expect one more transfer before the summer is over.

I remember when IU fans were all outraged and disgusted when Cal came to UK and ran off players to free up scholarships.

That was different. Cal is dirty. Crean is really tan.

While I like to have fun with the "Creaning" thing, let's be honest here. Capobianco is awful at basketball. He was so bad last season that at one point he fell behind a freaking walk-on freshman (Jeff Howard) on the depth chart. The fact he is going to transfer (presumably to a smaller school) to actually get some playing time should surprise no one and I don't see why it would be the source of outrage.

Oops.

:hello:

Well that is interesting. But I'll be honest, I don't care if Capo got Creaned or not. I just didn't think it was necessarily the only explanation since players who suck do tend to transfer sometimes for more playing time. It does happen. :P

After 66 losses the last 3 seasons, Crean could cut half the damn roster for all I care if it meant having a team that could compete and have a winning record next season.

That isn't suprising. You guy's were the fanbase that cheered on Bobby Knight.

The moral of the story is when you win big, you can be a douche and the fans don't mind. :good:

and kelvin sampson.

It isn't like the average fan has any say in who they hire anyways. With Sampson I think most IU fans just hoped for the best and made themselves believe he would never break NCAA rules ever again.

Not that I'm going to deny we have a large number of douchebags in our own fan base. I can barely stand to read any Indiana basketball message boards.
