I question the decision to leave Demp in in the 7th on a cold Opening Day after 100 pitches.

 

I don't have a problem letting Carlos Pena swing at a meatball on 3-0, and it was a meatball. Sometimes, you just miss it.

 

Yeah, leaving him in to get the pitcher out I could see, but they should have had someone up and ready to go as soon as that AB was done.

 

And agreed on the second. He just got under a really juicy pitch.

Yeah I wouldn't advocate leaving any pitcher in or 113 pitches on opening day much less one that was clearly laboring for 2 innings in a row. That was Dusty Baker dumb.
