Ok, Grabow, this is a chance to show you can actually be counted on in situations other than mop-ups. Earn that 6th spot in the pen.

If a Cub had hit it though, it would have died on the track.

Stop it. It's a dumb bit.

The inability for so many posters to take anything at face value in a game thread never ceases to dumbfound me.

No, there is not some kind of unseen power deciding that the Cubs will hit a ball for a fly out that, of course, the other team will hit for a home run. You've just crossed over from annoying hyperbole to straight up delusion.

I mean, explain it to me...are you saying Aramis hit that ball EXACTLY the same as McCutchen and that something decided that McCutchen's will be a HR and Aramis' would be an out?

As much as I don't question the Cubs for letting Pena swing at a meatball on 3-0, I question the Pirates for letting Ronny Cedeno swing at a meatball on 3-0.

At least it was an 86-mph fastball.

The biggest difference in the game today has been that 5 of the Pirates' 6 hits have been XBHs, and all 10 of the Cub hits have been singles.
