lol @ the cubs winning that game

Carlos Silva is just a winner. Doesn't matter how many runs he gives up, he does just enough to win the game.

Z's scoreless streak ends at 6 IP. Thus far today, 3 IP, 5 H (all singles), 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K.

Edit: Final line.

Glad to see no walks today. Could care less how many hits he gave up.

My understanding (based upon details offered by the MLB.com broadcast) is that several of the hits were weak flares/broken bat hits.

i really hate koyie hill, and it's no fault of his own. he's just a terrible player who has no business being on a major league roster, and our management is unfortunately too incompetent to see this.

Garza off to a craptastic start. Just recorded 1st out. Gave up 2 BB and an ER before that

Now 5 ER with 3 BB with 1 out recorded. I know it's only ST, but still.

Hopefully the Cubs can channel the 2010 Bears and have a good season despite a horrible spring training/preseason. While things look pretty bad right now, as long as we stay healthy I have hope that we'll be able to compete.

Yeah. I'd like to see the team playing better, but Spring Training records don't mean crap. Last year, the Indians went 19-9, the Reds went 12-16, the Rangers went 10-19, and the Yankees went 13-15.

thankfully justin berg is ruining any chance he had of making the big club.

Who are the most likely candidates to make the bullpen? Marmol, Marshall, and Wood are obviously in. Who else has the best shot of making it?

Unfortunately Grabow and hopefully Guzman. Im going to bet on 1 of Wellemeyer or Looper with the last spot going to Smardzjia simply because hes out of options and Hendry isnt ready to let that bird fly.

Grabow is locked in as the 4th. One of Russell or Maine will probably take a spot (if not both). The other two spots are up in the air. Part of it will depend on who wins the 5th spot in the rotation.

Garza claims he has tried to throw only fastballs and changeups in his first 3 starts. That he is not using his full repertoire may explain some of his issues thus far (although not his control problems).

Well these are the hats that the Cubs were going to wear today on Ron Santo Day.

Cubs players have been given special No. 10 caps this morning in honor of Ron Santo Day at HoHoKam Park.

The No. 10 emblem that will be worn on the sleeve of Cubs' uniforms this year has been painted on the field behind home plate, and ceremonies honoring Santo will take place before the game against Cleveland.

(UPDATE: The Cubs won't be able to wear the hats during the game because they don't have an MLB logo on them.)
