While I'm not totally surprised since it is the Raiders, I wonder if they have him as their top realistic QB option. Assuming they don't trade up, their first pick isn't until the middle of the second round and the top couple QB's (at least Newton and Gabbert) are guaranteed to be gone by that point).

I don't get it. Why did they just trade four picks for something they don't even need?

They needed a guy with more quick strike TD talent. I think they had the lowest amount of 30+ yard plays in the NFL last year.

i don't like julio jones that much, jeez.

I'm kind of torn on it. They gave up way too much, but they really needed another weapon for Ryan and there simply isn't much WR talent after the Green/Jones duo. It's not a great move, but it's one I think they almost had to make.

What a steal for Arizona.

Definitely. Best player in the draft went 5th.

houston really should have tried to move up for him. their secondary is so God-awful.

Amukamara is still there and may last until their pick.

Glazer is reporting that the Falcons have a deal with the Browns for the 6th overall pick.

It will only happen if the player they want is available.

Green?

I think they are interested in either Jones or Peterson.

Just sayin', Goodell getting booed was kind of awesome.

Good call on Jones. I figured it was WR.

I didn't watch a lot of Carolina football last year, but I tend to reserve opinion when a QB has almost literally zero talent around him.

good quarterbacks can make at least a few plays with substandard NFL players.

carolina is a far cry from "substandard"

It's harder for pocket passers to make plays with substandard talent than more mobile QBs. That can be a defense of Clausen and a reason to favor Newton. There's also room between what Clausen is now (not very good) and what he can become (solid to very good).

Giving up on a QB after one year when you invested a high pick just isn't a good idea.
