I don't understand the point of having 4 aces on your team. I mean I do, but there has to be some sort of cap to Philly's payroll and they have to be nearing it. Is it smart to use a large portion of your resources on having a 4th ace caliber pitcher?

Why not? Pitching wins championships, and it's not like they have any trouble scoring runs.

BTW, I know this isn't constructive but seeing as how the Phils at least had a very comparable payroll, I'd just like to take another opportunity to thank Jim Hendry for being completely mediocre at his job and for him to go [expletive] himself.

Also, Phillies = New Yankees

Fare thee well, NL parity.

Now let's see if the Yankees go and get Greinke.

They are too worried about whether Greinke would hold up under the media pressure to trade for him IMO. Either way its still an after thought. I love seeing the yankees get burned.

I guess. It's just crazy that someone like Roy Oswalt or Cole Hamels won't likely be needed in a 5 game series. I'm just really surprised that they have the resources to sign him. Halladay, Oswalt, Lee, Howard, Rollins, Utley and Ibanez all have massive contracts, I believe. I know they lost Werth but I don't think he was making too much.

Grienke is probably too much of a headcase to thrive in New York.
