Lebron's contract has nothing to do with his worth to his team. The MVP has never been and never will be value/$

Agree that MVP is not about value, but of course LeBron's contract has to do with his worth to his team.

And I can totally see that. I can see valid, objective arguments that James or Howard should be MVP, and the only valid argument for Rose is that he's the best story, which is clearly subjective due to public perception.

 

Subjective, like the award itself, since there are no defined metrics attached to it. It's a popularity contest.

 

rose is better to watch, that's got to count for something.

 

and don't make me remind everyone how right i was last year about lebron doing da funky chicken in the playoffs. he's as talented and as heartless as they come. a great shell of a player, the akron golem. brought to life by a forgetfully masochistic rabbi whom he killed before bestowing a competitive nature. he's a cosmic tragedy, an ironic universal punishment much like that of tithonus, who had eternal life but not eternal youth, or cassandra, who had the gift of foresight but not the gift of persuasion, or edward scissorhands, who had no one to wipe his ass.

Bulls offensive strengths: Ball handlers coming off screens (Rose), Isolations (Rose)

Bulls offensive weakness: Spot-up shooting (Taj/Boozer/Noah,Brewer), Post-Ups (Taj)

Pacers offensive strength: Off ball screens (Dunleavy)

Pacers offensive weaknesses: Transition (Collison), Ball handlers coming off screens (Collison)

 

Bulls-Pacers: Defensive Breakdown

 

Summary:

Bulls defensive strengths: Pick and Roll Defense, Closing out on shooters

Bulls defensive "weakness" (something they are only average at): Transition 3 defense

Pacers defensive strengths: Defending off ball screens, Post defense

Pacers defensive weakness: Isolation defense (30th of 30 NBA teams)

Are there any guesses on which day Bulls vs. Pacers Game 1 will be?

It'll be Saturday, since the Blackhawks are at home on Sunday. Game 2 Monday.

Thibodeau is runaway vote in coach of the year, and Jack Ramsay voted for Keith Bogans as Defensive POY, likely cause he figure he must do something good to warrant the court time.

 

ETA: Ramsay also voted Manu as MVP

Bulls-Pacers X-Factors: Luol Deng/Mike Dunleavy Jr.

 

AKA "If you want him to be effective, don't make him create his own shot."

 

On the Pacers side, Dunleavy would be quite the X factor. Even though he was still starting, he was starting to get less and less minutes under Vogel and only had scored in double figures 3 out of his last 11 starts before his injury and has only been back for 5 games now. That choice surprised me. I figured it would be Paul George maybe keeping tabs on Rose or maybe Tyler Hansbrough.
