Good effort by the Bulls, it sucks to lose what can you do?

 

The Bulls are just flat out missing something on offense. Hopefully that something is Boozer (although trading for Carmelo would be nice.)

 

They're missing a 2 (or a 3 for the half the season Deng doesn't show up). Boozer isn't going to help there.

 

I know. I'm trying to be hopeful. It'd be nice to have someone to pound it to when we aren't hitting jump shots (which is a lot)

Fair enough. Wish they had better play from the backcourt besides Rose though.

I'll fight anyone who says there is another guard in this league that can do what Rose does when the entire defense is keyed on stopping him. He's incredible. Korver missed some shots that we need him to make. Gibson and Noah controlled the glass like we want. Other than that, can't be too mad with how they played...the effort level was there, Lakers hit a lot of shots because they're the best team in the league and stupidly deep.

 

I pray that Boozer can help nip in the bud those runs that teams make against us where it looks like Derrick has to absolutely every thing to get us a good look. We can play with anyone though.

This team is pretty useless without Rose, although I guess you could say the same thing about the elite teams without their star player(s).

 

Since when did Shannon Brown get good at basketball? I remember he was our 12th man a couple of years ago and whenever he played, he was pretty awful. I really don't like that guy.

 

The lack of a 2 guard is a definite problem that needs to be addressed. We're really not that far off. The problem is I don't really see us trading for Carmelo, even if Gibson continues to play as well as he has been.

Does Rose always play like this? Because he looked great today. I know the Laker guards are far from special but he was just abusing them and getting to the basket at will.

 

EDIT: I was impressed by the Bulls tonight. They were right there the way up until that run midway through the fourth.

This year, he does. He's the most valuable player in the league through 3 weeks. He's about all the Bulls have offensively.

Deng (and Rose, for that matter) will be much better off when Boozer is back and commanding defensive attention that Taj just isn't. Deng will be a 3rd option offensively and can hopefully do well just draining open 3's and cutting like a maniac.

I'm not surprised, or dismayed, that they couldn't beat LA on their home turf with Boozer out and still early in the season.

 

From what I saw they actually seemed to hang nicely with the Lakers.

 

As for Rose being the Bulls -- OK. That's the NBA.

What can I say? The Lakers bring the best out of me. I hate them more than the Celtics or the Heat.

Korver kiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllled us last night. Normally he does miss that badly on wide open attempts. Normally if he misses they rim out or something.

 

I do like that we've been competitive with Boston, SA and LAL, but a lot of teams can catch an elite team at the right time and play them closely. This Bulls team is beyond moral victories and needed to close out one of those 3 games for a win.

 

Oh well, the second is young and we're about to go on a tear when the schedule lightens up in about 2 weeks.

Korver will come around. But CJ Watson and Ronnie Brewer just aren't going to cut it. Neither guy can hit an open jumper.

 

If they somehow manage to upgrade that and get Luol to stop playing like crap, they are a legit contender with Boozer back.

There is Ewing theory potential with other teams because they are deep, experienced, and have played together for years. You take Rose off the Bulls and you're looking at one of the worst offensive teams in the league. maybe the absolute worst without Boozer.

Push offs happen all the time and while I know Korver's was exceptionally bad it's still bull crap that they kind of just pick and choose when to call it.
