That was a great series, Blackhawks fans. Sorry it ended that way for you.

That was one of the best series in the playoffs in recent history.

You got to somewhat pleased, sure they backed into the playoffs but, look what they had to deal with - the cap dumps, multiple injuires, Keith sleepwalking for most of season - and they still pushed those clowns to game 7. This is "worst" Hawk team we're going to see in next three or so years. Not bad.

The end of every Hawks season sucks. Now what? The [expletive] Cubs? Jay Cutler drama? F U sports.

I know... I mean I have the Bulls but I know that feeling. You have to go from extremely engaged in sports to nothing. It's a weird feeling because there's just nothing going on. I know once the Bulls season is over, I can't see myself getting into the Cubs at all, so it will probably be a huge sports lull until September if the Bears are playing

Who is going to make up the slack that Sharp is going to leave if he goes to another team?

Congrats Vancouver, you choked 99.99% of the way to a vastly inferior team.

And savor it, we'll see an improved Blackhawks team in the coming years.

Agree, the hunger will be back, another season for the team to mesh, young kids getting some playoff experience...good seasons still ahead. But it still hurts.

Yeah, I agree. Really liked what I saw out of Leddy, Smith, and Crawford this year to provide enough optimism going forward. If they must deal Sharp this season, they seem to have the talent evaluators to identify high impact players who can be used for depth and backfill the loss Sharp's offense will cost us.

Can we trade Kane or Campbell instead???

in reality, we should have lost that game by multiple games if not for an absurd performance by crawford.

we got outplayed pretty bad tonight. oh well. that's why they're the 1 seed.

Sucks to be on the losing end of 2 of the best recent playoff series in 2 sports.

To steal from Sulley: only my teams... lol

Yeah that is the kind of rationality I'll save for tomorrow. Can't bring myself to think like that right now.

The thing is, how many times in your life will you see your favorite NHL team(or sports team) come back and take the number one overall seed or team in the regular season to a Game 7 after being down 3-0?

Yes, the loss may sting now, but the fact that the Blackhawks were able to get to a Game 7 was entertaining to watch.

There's also Morin, Kyle Beach amongst a few other defense man, Hawks system is just outside the top 10 at 11. That's where the depth will come from to team up with a core of Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook, Leddy, Smith, etc.

Was just coming to post that it was fitting that a bad turnover in our zone ended the season but already saw it. Crawford deserved better tonight.

That's what makes it hurt. I know the Hawks weren't going to win the title. I know they had no business even being in this series. The comeback to game 7 means nothing without the final win IMO. Now it's just, Vancouver had 4 chances to close out us and they did on the 4th try.

Meh, again I'll try to rationalize it tomorrow. Certainly getting the series to 3-3 was better than them finishing off the sweep, albeit more painful in the end.

I'm only a casual hockey fan and really only follow the blackhawks and don't pay much attention to anyone else, so with that preface, I'll ask a stupid question:

Is it me, or were the blackhawks severely undersized? It just seemed like the Canucks could do whatever they wanted with them (See the body slam of Toews). Did losing Dustin Byfuglien hurt THAT much? I loved that guy, but couldn't take off my homer-goggles and know if he was actually any good, or just got lucky and was in the right spot at the right time in the right system type of thing.

Either way, it was a long season, felt like longer playoffs... looking forward to see what comes next year.

There's some funny stuff on Campoli's Wikipedia page right now.

i see that the senators get a conditional second round pick for him. hopefully for the hawks the condition is that he does not end their season with a terrible giveaway in his own zone in the playoffs.

It may hurt now, but when you look back on the series in 5 years, you'll realize how awesome it was.

The update must have been deleted. Just wait a bit and refresh the page in a few minutes or so. It was the end of the turnover line. The first one was like, "Hate mail will be sent."

My final word on this as I need to goto bed.

The Vancouver Canucks did everything they possibly could to choke away the season. They pretty much handed the game to us despite dominating it. What we didn't count on was having an even bigger choker playing for us.

I promise I'll get over bashing Campoli eventually.

Here's to a mostly crappy, sometimes exciting, ultimately depressing title defense.

no need to wait, you can just view the history:

I doubt it.... I don't exactly look at the Bulls-Celtics series fondly. A few good memories but mostly bad ones.

If I do enjoy it, it won't be because we went from 3-0 to 3-3. It will because it was an ejoyable series with enjoyable moments. I don't really care if they went from 3-0 to 3-3 if they didn't finish it.

I cant really articulate what I am trying to say. Mostly that going from 3-0 to 3-3 means nothing. No one remembers when the Mavericks blew a 3-0 lead about 8-9 years ago. Hell I cant even remember what team they blew the 3-0 lead to. Anyways, they won in game 7 and now no one talks about it.

Something that is kind of different is that the Mavs weren't defending champions.
