I haven't heard mention of it on the TV feed I'm watching, but some postings on other sites are saying Cutler is hurt, which is why Hanie came in so early.

He got hit pretty good on back to back plays with the sack and the scramble.

He looked fine when they were showing him on the sideline after he came out, chatting with a coach

Probably just some hysterical rumor-milling fans. I haven't heard anything about him being hurt on the TV feed.

I doubt it. The radio guys never mentioned any issue. Hanie might get killed though, lol.

The NFL.com setup is pretty nice except having to pay for it. I get the video streamed with the Bears radio audio. :good:

It would make sense if he was hurt. Considering we have heard the Bears offense needs lots of repetition for the Martz offense to work in Week 1, 1 series is not enough (and Forte, Olsen and Kreutz also only played 1 series).

Nice boot Gould. Hit a 52 yard FG but it was called back because of a penalty on San Diego.

I don't see any improvement on the run blocking from the O-line so far. These guys have nowhere to run.

Yeah it isn't looking too good so far. Tice has A LOT of work to do.

Yeah Rivera's been dialing up a lot of those corner blitzes and they keep working.

i'm fine with the corner blitz working for now. that's gotta be something rivera is just monkeying around with and as long as louis doesn't get blown by again, i'll be happy.

Do we have a lineman with two apostrophes in his last name?

It's the fullback but I forget his name. Something Samoan.

Devin A! Strong hands baby.

Edit: I forgot that full back is randomly filtered on here.

Mannelly banged up his shoulder but I guess he is okay. Dez Clark is our backup long snapper apparently.

A tight end who could learn to be an adequate long snapper could really extend his career.

SAN DIEGO -- If you are unhappy about Jay Cutler taking an early exit after one series Saturday night, don't be.

Cutler completed both of his passes, led the Bears on a scoring drive that ended with a 38-field goal and stayed healthy.

The last part is the most important part.

Cutler was sacked and then had to scramble for a 2-yard gain after a protection breakdown. In eight snaps, he was hit twice. That's too often. No coach likes to see their franchise quarterback running for his life anytime, but especially in August. The smart thing to do was to get Cutler out of there before this night ended with a negative instead of a positive for the No. 1 offense.
