Yea. I'll be at this game tonight. With a 3 hour drive ahead of me and work bright and early the next day, I'm pulling the plug if we are getting beat badly.

 

I guess the most likely happy scenario would be a repeat of yesterday's scratch-out-a-run effort, only without the 9th inning collapse.

Fukudome wasnt so much punished as he was replaced by a player that they saw as the RF of the future, although I dont agree with the $10 million 5th outfielder, but what can you do. I know Colvins come down to earth, though still productive, so youd think that theyd at least share playing time at this point. The player Soto is replaced by a much lesser player in every sense and its a punishment, not because they have a better option. If Soto was playing poorly, and they were trying to see what Chirinos could do, then that would be a comparable situation to the Colvin/Fuku one. Z was a different story all together, and a very mismanaged situation at that.

28 for his last 119 is still productive? A .235 batting average with an OBP just barely above his batting average is productive?

 

If Fukudome was "producing" like Colvin the fans would be up in arms about it, but somehow a lot of fans still think Colvin is being productive and can be counted on as a starting OF'er next year.

If the Cubs can win tonight, they'll be right back where they were yesterday since the Reds and Cardinals have both lost. Taking 3/4 from the Phillies would not be a bad way to start the second half.
