Week 14

After 2 pitches (which counts as a start, yay), Harang left with an injury, becoming the 8th player on my team to hit the DL this year. I replaced him with Gorzo.

EDIT: Also looking for a productive SS since the Brewers benched mine (well, he wasn't productive).

My scrap heap 1B (Glaus) has missed the past few days and is day-to-day with a knee injury, so I replace him with another scrap heap 1B (Branyan), and he hits a HR in his first game for me. I haven't done too bad with scrap heap 1Bs since trading Miggy.

Thinking ahead to next week, are we going with the lower limit of 4 starts as we have the past couple of years? That makes sense to me, because it's the same rate (average of one start per day) that we normally have.

That makes sense to me...do lineups still need to be locked on Mon or do we have until we'd or thurs?

Also, on the topic of starts, my opponent this week seems to have 9 scheduled...what do I do about this?

I believe we have until the first game begins on Thursday. As far as pitching starts are concerned, the number of pitching starts actually shown is meaningless. You're free to move starting pitchers in and out of your active lineup as needed to get 7 starts. Some times it may show more than 7 starts because of two-start pitchers, but you move the pitcher to your reserve list after his first start. Other times it may show less than 7 starts because you have a pitcher on your reserve list to start the week, then move him to your active lineup later in the week to replace another pitcher after his start. You're even allowed to have more than or fewer than 5 starters active for a given day if that's what it takes to get 7 starts, even though you'll get an illegal roster message.

What Robert said.

I agree with the 4 start rule for the short week. Line ups won't need to be set until 5 minutes before the first game of that week.

Just to make sure I'm reading this right, Harang's "outing" (2 pitches, zilch results) is apparently no longer considered a start in the CBS league, so I can use an additional start to make seven. Is that correct?
