Man we had an offensive explosion today too.

Yeah I know, we should have spread those runs out a little bit. Those 2 runs could have got us 2 wins against a lesser team!

I've been for firing Jim Hendry since like 2 years ago. Maybe we could hire someone who understands how to use $140 million to make an above .500 type team.

According to Bruce Levine on Waddle & Silvey this morning, he thinks Hendry has done a good job and isn't going anywhere. He said that a lot of the fault lies with Sam Zell and the Tribune Company pushing him to spend money to drive the value of the team up. Yep, he really said that...

Wow.

It's a good thing we have the Good Bruce here at NSBB.

So Lou gets Marmol up in case Lilly gets in trouble. Yet with a runner on 1st and two right handed hitters coming up, Lilly is allowed to stay in the game to give up a 2 run homer. Another brilliant move by Lou. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is really getting fun.

He's daring Jim to fire him. jimmy doesn't have the stones to do it though.

if that's the case then Lou doesn't have the decency to retire, either

Why would he? He doesn't want to walk away from that kind of money.

Lou doesn't care anymore, Jim either doesn't care or is grossly incompetent (I haven't decided which yet), and I fear the team will quit soon, as Lou just doesn't have the fire that he once did to keep players motivated and playing hard.

I think I'll keep posting this once a game

The Pirates have been outscored by 149 runs in 45 games against teams that are not the Cubs. The Cubs have scored 6 more runs than their opponents who are not the Pirates.

I don't think I've seen the Cubs score a run in almost a week. Every time I watch they have already scored a few (or one, or none) and never score again.

So frustrating.

Summer TV is going to suck this year.

Dave Kaplan has been saying the same thing.

Who else saw Lou shrug in the dugout after that homer?

I saw it, but wasn't sure if it was a shrug or a shiver. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that it was a shiver.

why would you give Lou the benefit of the doubt? :)

Can we blow the team up yet? Yeah yeah, I know, it can't happen... but I'd much rather watch a team of rookies like Colvin, Castro, Cashner, etc. lose games than this ragtag bunch of bums.

At least then you could blame it on inexperience or growing pains.

This current bunch of losers has no excuse.
