If the Bulls do sign Lebron, I think they need to add another big man along with that good shooter. Not sure who is available below Bosh/Amare/Boozer but you definitely want more than just Noah and Gibson when you go up against Dwight Howard and the Lakers' big men.

It'd be nice, but I'm not sure how we could get a legit big man. There is the possibility of a Loul Deng trade, but I'm not sure who'd take on Deng. None of the team with FAs would I think. Maybe Minnesota would for Al Jefferson, other than that I can't think of a good big man we could acquire, you'd be talking about Elton Brand or someone like that.

You'd just kind of have to deal with Lebron and Deng as your forwards. Although Lebron would be listed as your 3, I think realistically, you'd seem him fulfilling more of a PF role on offense, and most defensive matchups would call for him guarding the 4's.

A shooter I think will be easier. I could really see Ray Allen signing for a little less than $5M if we had Lebron, which is about what we'll have to spend.

I can't wait for Lebron to sign here to team up with Kobe whom we traded for a few offseason ago.

Are you on the Knicks board on realgm poking them?

Yes, I barely post on RealGM but I couldn't resist mocking the chain of thought that Bosh is a better fit next to Rose--you know, because Chris Bosh is already a Knick and all.

Isn't Asik coming over? I don't know much about him but he's supposed to be a force at locking down the paint.

we can't have everything. noah is enough of a spaz of energy to at least cause SOME chaos down low. quite frankly, if we add lebron and perhaps allen, the lakers and magic will have enough problems on their hands.

Not to say I'm the biggest fan, but isn't Brad Miller at least a serviable enough backup to give you 15 decent minutes off the bench? Or what about trading Deng for a bad contract of a big guy?

man, it's gonna suck so bad when we end up with joe johnson

Signing JJ to a non-max deal wouldn't suck as it would be a very disappointing summer. If the Bulls sign JJ, Bosh better be a Bull also.

That's the rumor. I'm hoping he is better then the Euro drags they brought over a few years ago.

They can't sign both.

they can, but they won't.

Agreed. It's not that they can't, they won't.

What idiot GM is going to take on Hinrich and Deng's salaries in a sign and trade?

Boston is going to need a guard when Allen leaves. ;)

Believe it or not, there is a decent market for Hinrich (I'm not so sure about Deng), so there is a remote possibility that Hinrich can be dealt.

Do Toronto or Atlanta have interest in him? Is Kirk alone enough to free up a max contract spot? (Actually asking a question, not being a prick like usual)

As for Boston, my gut says Allen comes back for a year, though that probably depends on whether we finish off Cleveland. Otherwise, I dunno, probably Starbury again.

No, they can't sign two max guys or even a max guy and a near max guy.... the likelihood of anybody taking those bags of crap off our hands in a favorable deal are slim.

And if they could do it, they sure as hell would. They'd sign two max players if they had their way.

I don't think so. The Bulls barely have enough for 1 max deal right now. Hinrich is only due to make $9 million next year. So, no.

I wouldn't say barely. The cap wound up being higher than anticipated so they'll have a little more on top of a max slot to work with. But nothing near max.

IDK what teams offseason games plans are. I wish I had a job that allows me to including in finding out, but alas it's not to be. But believe it or not, Hinrich only has 2 years left remaining on his contract ($17 mill left on his deal), and considering that teams like the Lakers (Hinrich would be much better then Fisher/Farmar) have shown interests in the veteran guard, I would say there is better then 50/50 chance of Hinrich being traded. I don't know who though, but I do believe there will be a decent market for Hinrich.

Now if the Bulls do the unthinkable and sign Lebron, I could see Allen jumping from Boston to Chicago. Otherwise, I see Allen staying in Boston.

on second thought, you're probably right

Who are you gonna get from the Lakers for Hinrich though? I don't think it's gonna be anyone who is an upgrade. As you alluded to, his deal is only two more years, so you'd have a hard time justifying him for a downgrade. You need to get a deal that is fair from a talent standpoint, and I'm not sure you can, not from the Lakers at least.
