Look like Old C Patt got called up to the O's today, with Reimhold sent down and former would be Cub Brian Roberts sent to the 60 day DL. The O's now need a full time second basman. I have heard rumors that Fontenots on the trade block. Would the have interest in their former 1st rounder? If it came down to it, from a defensive standpoint, Darwin Barney would surely be a better back up SS than Font.

Ty Wigginton's been damn good for them.

Will never forget being hyped about Corey. When I got to see him play, I watched him hit for the cycle in low A ball. Also, remember Hee Seop Choi crushing 2 HRs in a game, including one that just landed last week. What a team that was! Patterson in CF. Choi at 1B. Kelton at 3B. Jeff Goldbach at C. Zambrano and Wuertz in the rotation. Ah, the good ol days.

I'll always what could have been with Corey if he had been with a more competent organization. Maybe he still would have sucked, but this nugget keeps coming back to me.

Back in 2007, I was randomly watching the Orioles on ESPN with Dusty Baker calling the game. C-Patt came up to the plate and Dusty starts gushing about him. At one point in his AB, Corey fouled off a high four seam fastball and Dusty just started gushing, "You know, I was the one who taught him to swing at those pitches! It's what a good hitter's gotta do!" He gets all excited about it...and then Corey strikes out swinging on the next pitch, a four seam fastball.

I am still waiting for the O's to start Patterson, Pie and Montanez in the OF in the same game. Just once. Maybe in a Sept. DH or something.

They should start Patterson, Pie and Dubois in the OF, with Kelton, Montanez, Bobby Hill and Choi on the IF.

Jeff Goldbach at catcher and Matt Bruback starting. Then they're set.

Since Jake Fox was just DFA'd, you could have him behind the plate with Brownlie starting and Ben Christensen coming in to close it down.

Of course by close it down you mean turn the lights off at the stadium after a 10 run loss.
