Tennessee:

- Chattanooga Lookouts traded RHP Kyle Smit to Tennessee Smokies.

 

Peoria:

- RHP Marcus Hatley assigned to Peoria Chiefs from Boise Hawks.

- Great Lakes Loons traded Brett Wallach to Peoria Chiefs.

 

Boise:

- Larry Suarez assigned to Boise Hawks from Peoria Chiefs.

I'm not really sure why Suarez was demoted. He's struggled of late but it didn't seem like he was doing so poorly as to get demoted. Rogelino Carmona was demoted from Boise to Mesa as the corresponding move to this.

Sounds about right. Whitenack was doing pretty well in Peoria in the second half of the season and Rusin was old for Daytona, albeit putting up very good numbers himself.

Whitenack's promotion opens up a spot for Wallach. Whitenack has been doing well of late but I was hoping it would be Wallach who'd be bumped up to Daytona.

There was no such expression, Larry is a great kid. Not much fire/emotion off the field at all really. A quiet guy. He just wasn't throwing strikes. Lot of 3-2 or 3-1 counts and running up his pitch count to where he only threw 1 inning a few times in the middle of games.

That fits with what I have heard about him. Big like Z, but very quiet too.

I'm guessing his versatility and relatively advanced bat (at least for A-ball) allows him to bounce around.
