I've been called 3 times by the Devils in the past week trying to get me to buy tickets to this series. I made one purchase of expensive seats, which averaged out with 4 free seats meant they were cheap for our group and they think I'm a big spender and Devils fan.

Same thing happened to my brother after he bought tickets to the Nats- Cubs game last year. Those tickets were $50 each so I guess that would make him look like a big spender.

It's funny, but because of some late runs/slumps, some teams got some really tough 1st round matchups.

I think Detroit is a threat to win the West, but Phoenix was probably as tough as a 1st round matchup for them. Same w/ NJ getting the Flyers. Pens should still beat Ottawa, but if they and the Devils were switched, I think both teams would be more comfortable.

I think the Blackhawks and Caps have the only matchups where they could completely dominate the series.

the sharks *should* dominate the avalanche, but they're the sharks. so they probably won't. and they might even lose.

OT in Washington, lets see if the upside down nature of these playoffs can continue.

very exciting play, much more wide open and free-flowing than i would normally expect from an nhl overtime. montreal has outplayed washington so far in this overtime.

Remember how we were talking about in the Blackhawks thread how there's a ton of variance in the NHL playoffs? Not as much as baseball, but way more than football or basketball?

Yeah.

Not much variance really, all the higher seeds (Detroit aside) are winning. :-)

I just want to point out that WC hockey is sooooo much better then EC hockey.

No doubt.

I'm watching LA-Vancouver right now, and it looks like the Canucks are up to their typical douchy tricks already.

randy f'in jones i hate you so god damn much

welcome to my world. he skates well and has the tools to be a good defenseman, but makes so many dumb plays and has no positional awareness. i'm glad he's gone.

Has Versus given up on even trying to be objective in Penguins telecasts?

Were they ever?

When Olcyck does their games I understand it some. He was their coach when several of their players were up and coming, so I understand some homerism there. I have no idea who did their game tonight, but it may as well been the actual Penguin announcers.

there is nothing I enjoy more in hockey than when team gives up a goal because a dman got way out of position to make a big hit...thank you Ed Jovanowski

this phoenix/detroit crowd is insannnne

After that goal to put them up 4-3 it looked like Joe Louis arena with the amount of Red Wings fans on that side of the ice.
