Q needs to really make adjustments before game 2. Their game plan really got to us.

their game plan really got to us? what was their game plan? to get dominated for 2 periods, score a lucky goal, and then have troy brouwer give them the winning one?

the blackhawks were clearly the more skilled team on the ice. the predators won because the blakchawks allowed them to. they allowed their typical soft goal and then fell apart for the next several minutes like they always do.

i don't understand why they always collapse right after giving up one of those soft goals. they always look like a completely different team when they get gut punched by one of the clowns in goal

The Blackhawks could barely spend any time in the Preds zone with possession. You don't think that was by design? Also, the Preds had the upper hand for about half the first period as well. So for 1.5 periods the Preds looked better with the Hawks dominating the other 1.5 periods.

But all year long we've been bitching about the Hawks dominating and not scoring, so it doesn't really mean anything I guess..

They had that 2-1-2 forecheck broken for the entire middle part of the game and were starting to dominate. I don't know what clicked and they turned back to clearing the zone like assholes, but that's got to change.

I'm very disappointed, but I have no concern about their ability to win in Nashville. So just win Sunday night.

I attribute it to the Cubs being in attendance.

*ducks*

Was Chris Young there too?

That's what this feels like. Losing to some [expletive] team with no [expletive] history and no business even existing.

I attribute this lose more to luck than anything else, the Hawks are far superior to Nashville, luck will not win this series.

Exactly. This predator team is going to get outskated and outclass for the rest of the playoffs. I will go ahead and say it...The Preds got the only win they are going to get tonight. The Hawks will win the next 4 and this loss will be forgotten.

If you thought our Cubs game threads were bad, the 300 level has taken it to a new level on their board.

Calling the level of intensity by the Blackhawks fit for a preseason game. Several posters saying the Hawks will get swept. Claiming they have no work ethic, etc. Reading it actually makes me feel better for some reason.

I hope so. One thing I noticed, especially when the Preds had the lead, they did a nice job of keeping the puck on the boards. The Hawks are a lethal team in open ice, and have definitely shown that they struggle when they can't get space to move the puck around.

what was with the crowd tonight? they were pathetic. i've watched most of the playoff games so far and our crowd was clearly the worst, and not even close to the other crowds.

i'm watching the preds/wings and the place is jumping. it soundedl ike a november game at the united center tonight

Like I said, the fans were so nervous they sat on their hands waiting for a collapse. Just like the Cubs crowds in the 08 NLDS.

Going on the Blackhawks board it looked like the stupid people are out in full force. The way I saw this game is the Pred's got lucky on the soft goal and the stupid giveaway. The Hawks were out skated in the 3rd. That is a concern but I think the Hawks end up winning this in 6 games though.

Sunday is very important now. I'm expecting to see a much better performance from this club.

I kind of expect the Predators not knowing what hits them on Sunday. I think the Predator will see how outclass, talent wise, they truly are in this series.

They're in for a hard dose of reality Sunday, in the long run this loss may turn out to be a good thing.

I expect that Hawks will win the series and am not debating that they are a more talented team. I think you may be underselling Nashville some though. They are not in a hockey media bed so you don't hear a lot about some of their players, but that does not mean that they lucked into a 100 point season. Nashville's defense core is very comparable to the best in the league, which helps offset the fact they are lacking in strong scoring forwards.

I'm not underestimating Nashville, that is how much confident in the Hawks ability.

the predators had a goal differential of zero this season

the more games i watch this postseason, the more sadness i feel about our crowd.

the fans pretty much negated the home ice advantage, and maybe even gave nashville an advantage with the tense and dead silent atmosphere they created.

I actually just came on here to post that if Hawks fans wanted to see a crowd to emulate tomorrow, look at the Capitals crowd tonight.

I'll be there tomorrow, so I'll try to liven my section up dex.

It's only our second year in the playoffs with this current group, but I wouldn't be surprised if the fans just feel a bit of complacency about the first couple rounds. As if things don't really get serious until we get to the CF. Nevermind that it might not happen.

I can't even imagine them losing this game tonight. It can't happen. I wasn't prepared for this amount of nervousness by the second game.

It appears since Versus won't be showing the whole Hawks game, it won't be blacked out on CSNC.

Posted

I'm hoping the first game nerves will be gone in this game. The Hawks seemed to have a lot of issues passing, receiving passes and shooting the puck. Nashville's second goal was scored on a bad pass.

Don't make mistakes like that and hopefully Nashville won't score on goals as fluky as the first one in the last game and they should be fine. The Blackhawks are the better team.

I still can't shake my nerves though.
