i meant to mention this is a few days ago, but i don't think seabrook has gotten enough credit for his play in this postseason. i think he was hands down our best defensemen throughout the playoffs. very few turnovers or mistakes, and he was a complete beast physically. soooo many hits. keith was fine, but he just makes so many turnovers in the defensive zone. seabrook was almost flawless for the past 2 months.

Seabrook and Hossa were the two best Hawks, for at least the last three rounds.

Toews had a 60.3% faceoff win percentage in the playoffs, and was +23 on takeaways/giveaways. The man does so much that doesn't show up in his point total.

Stanley Cup, Gold Medal, Conn Smythe, Outstanding Forward at the Olympics. What a year.

Most humble dude out there, he'd have to be considered in the running for SI sportsmen of the year, and SI has been pushing the Blackhawks hard since last summer.

I agree about Seabrook...I kinda thought he'd get some Conn Smythe discussion, but he never really did.

Are there two people that are more polar opposites in personality than Toews and Kane?

I don't remember if it was NBC or CSN that at the end of their interview with can told him to behave during the celebration, and Kane's reply was "not a chance man, not a chance".

Even more amazing considering how bad the Hawks were at faceoffs the entire year last season

From some message board...

Nobody had any idea where the puck was on Kane’s winner. Damn, that Chris Pronger is quick.

Anyone mention yet that Ladd admitted after the game that he was playing with a fractured shoulder?

Holy crap...I missed that. Wow.

well he just achieved legend status for me. knowing the physical nature of the flyers (and of a series like this in general) that takes serious balls

It didn't look to be bothering him when he lifted the Cup over his head!

Ballsy Ladd...I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple different injuries revealed in the coming days.

a lot of those people probably didn't care about the hawks 2 months ago, but still cool to watch.

Why must people throw beer, why, why?

Why not? The Hawks just won a championship! The players douse each other with booze why not the fans?

I heard on the score that Kane brought his infamous cousin on the ice and when an media guy tried to interview him Kane was like "THIS IS MY FAMOUS COUSIN!!" and the report goes "are you 2 going to share a cab tonight". Right after that Kane starts skating away and the reporter was asking him why he's leaving, and Kane replies "no more questions after that"

The players pour champagne over each others heads. A-holes in bars just throw a beer across the room. It's an excuse to be a dick and get away with something you would normally not get away with. But more importantly, it's a waste of beer.

There was somebody in the locker room shots that I assumed was the infamous cousin.

Because that's a beer foul. You're not supposed to throw or drop or spill beer. You're supposed to drink it.

The guy just wins. People who complain about his 3 points in 6 games in the Final, well, they are right because he seriously needed to bury some of those chances. But they also miss the point. He wins faceoffs. He blocks shots. He controls the puck along the boards. He just plain keeps the flow of the game in your favor.

I don't believe in "momentum" that much, but I do know that there is a flow to a hockey game. When you control the puck in the other team's zone, it can set you up for the next five minutes. When they have to clear the puck, you get to gather it up in the neutral zone and start over. If they finally do get control in the neutral zone, they probably have to dump and go for a change by that point, meaning you get to go right back at them. When Toews is on the ice, the Blackhawks control the game.

To borrow from the Avs announcer: This is the kind of talent that brings a franchise back from dead.

I e-mailed the Philadelphia travel board to ask them what Chicago, Montreal, Boston and New Jersey have in common. I never did find out?

More total stanley cups, and for everyone besides Boston, more recent cups.
