Any who, I don't believe for a second that UMFan won't have a freak out if there's a loss tonight.

Just read some of your comments after game 2 and then after game 4. The difference is stark and hilarious.

Let's hope we don't find out.

But I said all series long that I was worried because I hadn't seen a dominant performance out of the Hawks in the series and I was worried that the Hawks just weren't good enough to overwhelm this team. I was worried that they matched up with us too well and could neutralize our strengths. I was worried the Hawks werent getting to any rebounds in the flyers zone for putbacks. I was worried that the Flyers were getting their own guys centered in front of the net too frequently and we weren't getting physical enough with them. But I saw that performance in game 5. Like I said, I probably won't be posting here saying "don't worry guys I guarantee you we win game 7!!! Go Hawks!!" but I might say stuff like "the defense had a difficult time clearing the puck again tonight. We're gonna need a better performance in game 7 if we want to skate the cup around the UC"

Besides, I'll be at a bar watching the game so most likely I won't be home during my customary 30 minute "freak out" period to post musings on NSBB. The only way I would is if we were getting blown out and clearly losing. At that point I'll probably be home before the game is over.

A win in Philadelphia is long overdue.

Things that happened in 1996:

-The Bulls win 72 games and their 4th NBA title in 6 years

-The Yankees win their first World Series title since the early 1980's

-The Cowboys win their last Super Bowl to date, beating the Steelers

-Bill Clinton defeatd Bob Dole and is reelected President of the United States

-The Summer Olympics are held in Atlanta, GA

-Princess Diana and Prince Charles are divorced

-The OJ Simpson Trial begins

-On October 27th at around 4:31 PM CST, a young umfan begins puberty

Oh and also the Blackhawks won a game at what is then called the CoreStates Center, their last win in Philadelphia until TONIGHT

Sorry... I'm behind... the Blackhawks haven't one in Philly since '96?

Not exactly sure how I feel about this game.

We know that the Flyers will be playing with all kinds of desperation, because its literally a 1-loss-and-its-over point for them for tonight (and Friday night*, [if necessary]). They'll have an added help with the game being in their place.

I don't think the 'Hawks absolutely have to or should match their desperation level (to try and win that way), but they are going to have to approach the game with a "give it all we can" attitude. Philadelphia has faced this before, needing to win to either stay alive or advance, and proven they can do it.

Gah! I want to be :yahoo: :clapping: \:D/ :stickman: so badly in about 3.5-4 hours' time, as the Chicago Blackhawks skate around the ice hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup, its ridiculous. :beg:

I would enjoy a 5 goal first period for the Hawks.

Better make it at least 8, or I'll still be nervous as all hell that the game will still be in real doubt.

Nice cross-check to Keith's face by Hartnell.

This pace favors the Hawks. Keep this up and it will turn out like game 5. It took awhile to break through on Sunday too.

No scores yet, but goodness. You don't think both teams don't know what's at stake?!

Gah. Just makes the nervousness and anxiousness all that much worse!!
