They sure don't look like a team that is just losing a couple road games but will take control back in Chicago.

They look more like a team that has been figured out by an opponent and is shaken by it. They're back on their heels.

This is lookin' mighty bad.

It's not that I think the Hawks can't lose, it's the notion that the series is over that is totally irrational.

I mean really, you think this is in the same universe as the 8th inning of game 6 and beyond of the 2003 NLCS (yet)? Step back from the ledge.

This is the 63rd sports season I've watched. I don't know why it would end differently than the other 62, watching someone else's fans celebrating.

(This is the perfect attitude, because if they win I get all the joy, and when they lose at least I get to be right).

seriously though, why the [expletive] is byfuglien still on the 1st line? he is completely bringing down kane and toews. he's absolutely pathetic right now. PATHETIC

yeah, he had some nice series earlier in the postseason. that's over. he's regular season byfuglien again. get him off the [expletive] first line

So much for the stanley cup..

Well, it'll still be there. It'll just be going to the Flyers. Philadelphia fans have had to wait a whole 18 months since they last saw a championship, or something like that.

I know the Hawks could easily turn this around but I cant see them winning another game this playoffs. I just haven't seen one good performance out of them this series, and in fact they are getting worse. The Flyers will have all the momentum, and will be in the Hawks heads. You just cannot maintain confidence when you're being dominated for 4 games.

I think they've basically been about even when the teams are even strength. Hell, Philly didn't get a shot for ten minutes. Dominated for 4 games?

Sorry, I'll stop and let you vent.

Who else belongs there?

Hossa? Putting all your eggs in one basket.

Versteeg? He's been the worst forward the whole series.

Did you watch the third period of game 3?

(and the teams aren't always going to be at full strength, and our special teams are a big reason we're in trouble)

Question;

Having not watched until the Vancouver series... does/did Toews score alot of goals earlier in the season on wrap-around attempts at the net? Because from where I'm sitting and watching, that seems to be about his preferred scoring attempt method 80-some percent of the time. If it works great, but kinda tiresome to see him continually get stoned on shots that have no 'oomph' on them and rely much more on luck than skill.

agreed. byfuglien is garbage right now.

Agree about above.

I want to seriously [expletive] hardcore about the reffing, but seeing as how CHI's 0-fer on however many PPs they've gotten in this series, not sure exactly what we're missing other than personal gratification of not seeing PHI getting away with literally everything.

Going back to Wednesday night, this was the first PP in 4 attempts that looked like the Blackhawks had any intention of doing something with the advantage they had.

At least if the Hawks went on the PP, that's 2 less minutes for our defense to give up a horrible turnover in our zone leading to a Flyers goal.

brouwer had success there in the regular season. i'd go with him. he hasn't been that good in the postseason, but byfuglien is a disaster right now. he destroys the possession every single time he gets the puck.

Brouwer's been almost as bad as Versteeg. He's a bad penalty and turnover machine.

I'm not against a shuffle, though. But it's futile.

Not a hockey expert, but save for a few moments, we look like crap tonight (again).

No not even close.

Eff you Buff. Eff you Hammer. Eff you Sopel.

Other than that they've played really well. Physical, fast, more puck control and fairly smart. Buff is dragging down Kane and Toews so much right now. Switch him and Brouwer, put him on the 4th line right now. Boynton has held his own and had a key block. Too bad you can't trust any of the d's besides 2/7/51. Although Hjalmarsson has been solid in this series.

You can't equally weight a team that is tied 2-2 in the championship final with the vast majority of those other 62.

This isn't nearly as bad as Rex going into full [expletive] mode in the Super Bowl either.

1. Yes, the special teams are absolute trash right now. There is no denying that at all and it's a big problem.

2. Did I watch the third period of game 3? Not that it matters, but of course. What does that have to do with this? They still clearly haven't been anything close to "dominated for 4 games".

Sorry, I said I'd stop and let you guys vent.

You've learned :)

I said dominated for 4 games because saying "playing even with the Flyers or dominated for 4 games" sounds less worse.

2-2 or not, this team is falling apart and facing a bad matchup problem. It's theoretically possible they might get lucky and steal two games they don't deserve, but it's not going to happen.

btw, remember earlier in the postseason we were talking about how this hawks team had "it"

well, there's only one team in this series right now that has "it"

It's only going to get worse. I'm going to drown this thread with my tears.

we both will, and it won't make either of us hurt any less

I'm just pissed that a few guys making a few terrible plays have resulted in a 3-1 deficit. We've played sooo much better than game 3.

Oh and as much as I love Hossa and defend him at all times, SHOOT THE EFFING PUCK! There are 5 seconds left!
