Somehow, Keith led all Hawks in ice time yesterday, with 29 minutes.

He also lost a total of 7 teeth, one of which was lodged in his throat for the remainder of the game.

According to SI's Michael Farber

The final will start Saturday here if the Philadelphia Flyers eliminate Montreal on Monday, enough time to fit Keith, a Norris Trophy finalist, for seven new teeth and further amp up the city in which hockey used to feel like a root canal just five years ago.

This would work out nicely for me, as Thursday and Friday nights would be difficult for me to watch. I'll be among Flyers fans this weekend, although they are only Flyers fans when the times serves them well, same with their Phillies fandom.

6 days off should be ideal for the Hawks.

I guess I'm rooting for the Flyers to win tonight, oddly enough. I don't like the idea of sitting around doing nothing for over a week.

Ugh. I'm glad it works for you and all, jersey, but waiting all week for more Hawks will suck.

It sucks a whole lot less knowing I'm waiting for them to play game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals.

I worry a bit about the prolonged time off hurting them, but it's not like the Sharks time off affected them at all. They came out and looked amazing in game 1.

Excellent point.

I'd like the 6 days for Duncan to feel better, and Ladd's injury (whatever it really was) to get a little time.

I don't want much more than that though. I do subscribe to the idea that too many days off can affect a team in the first game of the series.

Okay, I laid out seven coins and the Blackhawks got heads. Flipped one for each game.

Blackhawks lose the final in five, winning only game 2. (Also, they would have lost games 6 and 7 too if it had gotten that far. Stupid coins).

That's my official prediction.

My brother has been visiting me throughout the playoffs.

He's very lucky.

This thing's in the bag, folks. Nothing can get rid of my brother, or his luck. Sorry Philly you lose.

Then it's a good thing that hockey is played on ice and not through chance.

Philly plays tonight and Wednesday, my guess is it's a Saturday start if it ends by then. Game 7 would be Friday, and I bet they would play Sunday, in order to get in another NBC afternoon telecast. There is a senior pga golf tourny scheduled on NBC Sunday as of now.

I wonder what comcast is hoping for.

Sometimes the way the puck bounces it seems like chance has a large say in the matter.

I give the Flyers a chance to win, definitely. Just like I gave the Preds a chance.

well they own the flyers so they definitely have a rooting interest there.

Same conundrum as 2008, 2007 (twice) 2003. Do I buy gear commemorating a lesser championship like the division or conference, thus chipping into what I can spend on championship gear if they win. Or do I wait and see how they do in the final, knowing that if they lose I'll be so disgusted I don't want to buy anything.

That was kind of my point.

Not really a conundrum at all. Don't waste your money.

Yeah...lesser championship gear is just a money grab.

More times then not the better team will win and in this case the Hawks are definately a step or two up on the Flyers or Canadians. Besides, Michael Leighton (I assume Philly will win) has gotten it easy in his 4.5 games since being inserted into the lineup. Facing and dominated such "juggernauts" like the Bruins and Canadians is not the same as dominated teams like Vancouver and San Jose. People saying Leighton is on fire, aand that's true to a point, but I believe that despite the 4 shutouts that Leighton has provided in the playoffs, I still think Niemi is playing better then Leighton, when you consider quality of opponents.

Now, I will not overlook the Flyers. Just like the Hawks signing Hossa for this moment, that is why the Flyers signed Chris Pronger. Phildelphia will give the Hawks a run, but ultimately the Hawks have the better all-around team and thus should win.

Watching some of the previous playoff highlights again. How different might we be feeling about this team if Seabrook's dump-in doesn't hit Kane in the skate and go straight into the net in Game 6 against Nashville.

Right now the line is Blackhawks 2:7. That feels a little too pro-Chicago. Something like 2:3 would be about where I'd put it.

It's there because that is where the money is going, not because they really like Chicago.
