I'm not real excited about my team. I traded two high draft picks for playerst o help in my playoff run last year, which was ill-fated largely because a couple of my pitchers (especially Washburn) suddenly remembered that they aren't that good and started pitching down to their talent levels. My worst trade in hindsight was trading Happ (with all his exemptions remaining) for Marquis, but at the time there was talk of Happ losing his spot in the rotation when Martinez joined the team. I may be paying the piper this year.

Going to feel good about my rotation when Strasburg and Hellickson are up. Infield is solid (Weiters, Lee, Utley, and Coghlan), OF could use a bat though.

This is the worst I've felt about my team in the entire time I've been in the league. :(

Hard to tell with this year being my first year but I like a few of my minor leaguers...

Pitching is fairly strong and I have a decent outfield (young with potential)...

I feel pretty good about my pitching staff. I have three Opening Day starters (Kershaw, Nolasco, Beckett).

However, offensively, I'm not as confident. I have a black hole at catcher until Buster Posey cracks the Giants lineup and I am hoping for a breakout from Travis Snider.

Due to my pitching-inclined team; Valenzuela's Screwballs are now Ron Washington's Dealers.

Honestly, I feel better about my team this year than I did at this point last year.

I'll expound: my pitching is really, really young, but I have two opening-day starters (one coming off TJ surgery!). If Escobar, Marcum and Masterson can produce decently, my team should be really good. I had a ton of exemptions coming off last year, which allowed me to keep some pretty good players for free.

i actually like my team. infield is stacked (mccann, teix, a hill, rollins, wright) and my OF came together nicely with a pre-draft trade (span) and in the draft (granderson). pitching could be shaky though...if sheets is serviceable and bailey can continue to improve, i think i'll be ok.

I have a team with some upside, but a lot of question marks.

Can Hamilton go a week without a toothache?

Martin has a groin injury - those are bad for catchers.

Is Phillips wrist back to 100%?

Is Pujols back going to be a problem?

Is ARod's hip 100%

When does Alvarez get a shot with the Pirates and would he be able to outproduce helton as a rookie?

Has Cueto been Dusy-ized?

Can Buchholz put it together?

Can Tillman put it together?

Can Carmona channel 2007?

Is Lilly healthy once he takes the mound?

Can Edwin Jackson pitch anything close to the first half of last year now that he's in the NL west?

All in all, I expect some of these things to go well. And a whole bunch of them not to. I believe I'll be in contention for a playoff spot, but I doubt I'll be one of the leading teams this year.

I love my OF, SS, and 1B. Rest of my position players are ass. Garrett Atkins needs a HUGE comeback year. My SPs are ok. Hopefully, Peavy can throw at least 180-190 innings, Matusz can have minimal growing pains, Rich Harden can keep the ball on the field in Arlington, and the Jays let Drabek pitch in the majors soon.

I like mine, but maybe due to wishful thinking

C- Mauer - the best catcher, .350 and 30 or more hrs is reasonable

1b - Votto - I hope he is in the top 5 at his position, .300 and 30 or more hrs

2b - Kendrick - This may be wishfull thinking, but I see .350 this year

ss - Bartlett - I think his numbers will make him near elite at this position. .320 and 20 hrs

3b - Reynolds - another 40 hrs

OF - Dunn - another 40 hrs

OF - McCutcheon - .300, 15 hrs, and 40 or more steals

OF - Zobrist - .300 and 25 hrs

DH - Wood - again wishful thinking, but I think this is the year he breaks into the 40 hr level

So, I think my offense has the potential to be real good. But I really need Kendrick and Wood to come through. But, I think that is a reasonable possibility.

My starting pitching is good. Billingsley, Jurrjens, Floyd, Slowey, Blanton, Saunders, Pavano, and Blackburn make a strong staff. I really think Slowey is going to have an all-star year.

With Broxton and Popelbon I think I have the league's best pen.

I also like my minors. Maybin, Martinez, Allen, Sizemore, and Hudson should all contribute this year. If not for the Quakers, then as trade bait.

So, I think the Quakers should make the play-offs. And if Kendrick, Wood, and Slowey live up to expectations... who knows.

But then I think the Cubs are going to win the world series each spring too.

Once again, my rotation is stacked (more so than previous years w/ Lincecum, Jimenez, Lester, Hamels and Hudson). I'll listen to trade proposals.

I like my team much more than last year. I have strong pitching (Carpenter, Zambrano, AJB, Garza, Happ) and a few big bats (Longoria, Berkman, Beltran, Hanley, Holliday). It could be a special year if all goes well.

I'm hopeful that Jay Bruce will have a break out year and Napoli will get the playing time he deserves. Oh, and Beltran stays in one piece.

I'm also amped about Jason Heyward making the Braves out of ST. He'll be their everyday RF.

He seriously looks like he is about 26, not like a 20 year old. I hope Vitters can turn out something like him.

Maybe one player on my offense will be at the All Star Game in July. I'm counting on my pitching to keep me in games each week.
