and they throw it short again. these are the smart kids?

I think in that situation, your odds of scoring are higher throwing it up for grabs at midcourt than throwing it to an open person 5 feet from where you are standing and shooting a 2/3rd court shot. I think people believe that getting off a shot, no matter where it is, is better than getting the ball to a position where you would have more than a 1% chance of making, should a shot be attempted there.

Do I sense another buzzer beater?

At this point, I almost expect Vandy to come down, nail a three with about five seconds left, followed by Richmond running down the other end and hitting a jumper as the clock runs out.

So Kansas at best will have to beat an 8 to get to the elite eight. Typical.

this is not surprising. in 2008 the highest seed they beat to get to the final four was an 8. bracket usually sets up well for them.

I bet you can't wait for aTm to make it out of the other half.

I'd bet the house on Akron and St. peters tomorrow. Oh and Illinois will win this region.....

and yet all I've heard all week is how they always get screwed and get the toughest region.

yeah, how dare the committee schedule them to play a single digit seed before the elite eight!

I brought up '08 and beating a 12 to get to the final four. One of the people I am in charge of came back with "we had all number ones in the final four." Yeah you usually play good teams there. Sorry.

That's not a very good argument. Their hardest game by far on the way to the Final Four was the Stephen Curry led Davidson team.

Both of you guys have teams in the tourney, yet you're more concerned about KU's path. Weird.

I just don't understand the logic here. I'm not calling out snood or illini, just this sort of thought in general. I hear over and over again how if a top-seeded team loses in the playoffs, how there should be some sort of "reseeding" or what have you, because it's some sort of injustice apparently for upsets to happen. Yet, when a top-seeded team has an easy path to go deep into the playoffs, then people complain about that, too. I guess there's just no satisfying some people.

Again, this is not a personal attack on anyone here, just my commentary on that kind of thinking.

I would think KU's path would be just a little bit of interest to Illinois fans in this tournament.

What does it matter anyway? They were statistically the best team in the tourney. It's not like they were some fluke team who got in because the path opened up. they had the #1adjD and the #2adjO in the nation per kenpom.
