Rumor per Illinois premium scout board is that Randle is leaning towards picking Stanford because he loves their med school program.

 

1. Why are you posting premium information? People pay for that.

2. Scout blows.

3. Its pretty apparent Randle wants to be at Stanford, and would be if it weren't for the distance. Truth is no one will know where he's going until he says where he is going.

 

please don't discourage him from posting free info. if he gets banned he gets banned, why should we all lose out?

Depends how in-depth you want to go. There are 2 or 3 other guys in '11 that are being recruited, but don't yet have scholarship offers (Langford, Holton, Holmes maybe?)

 

2012 has Gary Harris, AJ Hammons, DeJuan Marrero and Steve Taylor as the main targets, but how realistic the first 2 are is up for debate.

i thought for a while that marrero was very close to verballing, but apparently xavier is in the picture big time. he's not ranked in the top 75 on scout. he'll probably be anywhere between 75-100. but the kid is terribly underrated. he's a must get, i think.

yes. hamilton and parker should be top 10. i still think, no matter what the rankings say, that hamilton is the best player in the country in that class.

We have 6 total to use in '11 and '12 and it looks like we're using 5 in '11, so we won't be hurt that much by it. (The only real side effect is that it'd be nice to get a couple Indiana kids to keep IU in their rightful place) I do hope we keep on kids from that class even if we get an early verbal from Marrero (or whoever) because I have a hard time seeing everyone on this year's team being on the 2012 team one way or another. A big year out of this year's squads could help us make up some serious ground on the top kids from that class.

I understand why, look at what we have lined up if Shaw commits on Thursday like expected. Three stacked classes in a row. UI has never been able to do this three years in a row. Randle is gonna regret not taking that scholarship big time. Especially since his old man is a die hard Illini fan. Langford has to see the chance to play on some pretty stacked teams.

Isn't Langford essentially a poor man's Henry? They're around the same height and play similar positions, although I guess Langford is more of an undersized PF. But if UI gets Shaw, it seems as though we'd be wasting a scholly if we got Langford. I'd rather get Shaw, see what Randle does, and get DeJuan Marrero or a Gary Harris (unlikely) in 2012.

Yeah take 5 now if possible. Leonard and Richmond won't be here long. I'd rather have Leonard as an NBA team than B.J. Mullens right now.
