Pretty sure the added muscle isn't going to cure Colvin's inability to draw a walk... so I can't get excited about him no matter what he does.

 

Yeah. I'd like to see him make the team over Fuld, though. I don't see him as anything more than a fourth OF anyway, so I don't think there is a lot to be lost by not leaving him in the minors for seasoning. Even if he tore it up in AAA and got called up, he's still be behind Nady even if something happened to Soriano. For him to get significant AB's, Soriano and Nady would have to go down, which is possible.

 

If an increase in power led to some pitchers being more careful with him and him becoming more patient as a result, I could see value in giving him another year of work. I think I'd rather he play everyday until somebody in front of him gets hurt at which point he might be a better option than Fuld to start.

Yea, that's the one way I could see things working out for him long term. Or if he just learned a better plate approach at some point.

Flied out in his first at-bat, made some sort of contact out in his second. I only recall one ball hit to him, which he fielded cleanly.
