Tennessee needs to move down the S-Curve a couple spots, IMO.

We'll have to some rearranging, because that would make Georgetown a 4.

Illinois's going to go down here. I don't think I will move them on my curve.

I have them behind Georgetown and Temple

If you're going to move Tennessee to a 5 and Georgetown to a 4, here would be my proposal. I switched Butler and Tennessee's pods to maintain bracketing rules, then moved Georgetown to where Tennessee was, dropped Tennessee to Georgetown's old spot, and switched Maryland and Temple just because it would be odd to have a Georgetown/Maryland all-DC-area matchup take place in Spokane (that's totally up to the rest of you as to whether you care or not).

Does the committee take into consideration previous match-ups when placing teams into certain regions? I ask because the proposal in place now has New Mexico and Texas A&M set for a 2nd round meeting and we have already played them this season. Not a big deal, but wanted to bring it up in case that was something the committee looks at.

They do try to avoid them, so we'll have to take that into account. Let me crunch some scenarios.

Actually, that was pretty easy. Just switch Texas and Texas A&M's pods to avoid the rematch.

Just double check for me that there are no rematches set up or geographical disadvantages for anyone in their first round matchup.

In current games...

Vandy is catching up to Mississippi State, 51-48 with 5 and a half to play.

Minnesota is taking Purdue out behind the woodshed, 37-11 at halftime.

Posted
Also, if Purdue can't at least make a game of this, it'd be time to consider dropping them significantly. They're just not the same team without Hummel, and their wins have come against Indiana, Penn State and Northwestern.
Posted

Georgia Tech squeaks past NC State into the ACC title game.

And Minnesota is winning by 30. I'm ready to drop Purdue out of the top 16 at this point.

I'd probably drop Purdue even lower than that.

I don't think that'd be warranted. That was a horrible loss today, but their only other loss since Hummel went down was against Michigan State. Where Bukie had them is about right, if not a couple spots higher.

I know someone already sent theirs in, but a quick change of plans: Rank the list of 27 "in" teams, plus Minnesota and Mississippi State. That way, they can be part of the S-Curve in case they win, and we can see where they sit on the "bubble" tomorrow morning.

Major apology to bukie and everyone else on here. I was at the Big Ten Tournament the last few days and the hotel that we stayed at didn't have internet. Imagine that.

Again, really sorry about that.

I had more editing to do anyway, so I'll be sure to add that in there.

Does G'Town move further up the S-Curve if they beat WVU tonight?

Here's my mock-up of what our new bracket might look like if we drop Purdue all the way to a 5. I sent Wisconsin to New Orleans under the new pod and Temple would end up in Jacksonville. If we elect to keep them as a 4, then switch Butler and Purdue (Temple is higher on the curve but they played Georgetown already this season).

West Virginia wins the Big East. Good thing too because I was going to all but demand that G'Town jump Michigan State for a 3 seed if they won the game.
