The Cowboys have cut Folk and signed Shawn Suisham.

Thank god, it was like watching Chuck Knoblauch out there after he got the yips.

Isn't Suisham the guy who had the kicking yips and was cut by the Redskins a few weeks back?

Concerning Favre and Childress, from the comments I heard both of them make, Childress wanted to bench Favre for good, not just to run the wildcat. Even if it is the wrong decision, Childress has to take control of Favre.

It was idiotic on Childress' part but a couple things need cleared up. First of all he wasn't going to bench him for performance. It was because he was getting killed and Childress wants to preserve him. Favre said I'm fine, there's no way I'm coming out. I have no problem with that.

I do when you are an old QB who has worn down in recent years and the game means nothing.

The Suisham signing is funny stuff to me. I have a Redskins fan buddy at work, and he did nothing but whine about that guy all season, and nearly did a dance in his cubicle when the Skins released him.

How the eff does the game mean nothing? They're only up on the Eagles by 1 game for the bye. If they lose out they probably lose the bye. That means nothing?

I look at it this way. Favre is a hall of famer, Childress has done nothing. On top of that, if there is no Favre in Minnesota Childress probably doesn't get a contract extension. It's also really stupid to pull a guy when a playoff bye (which is essentially a playoff win.) on the line.

I have no problem with what Favre did.

Brady Quinn hurt his foot on his final 20-some yard carry on Sunday in KC, so he's on IR and Derek Anderson is back. The local South Bend CBS affiliate is airing the Browns/Raiders game Sunday because of local interest in Quinn. Well, this sucks.

Minnesota has to be the most likely team with a bye (assuming they get one and don't choke the last couple weeks) to be a one-and-done in the playoffs.

A wise poster a few weeks ago was saying how overrated the Vikings were. . .

The Vikings pass the "smell test" as they are big and physical and have a dominating running back. Those things make purported football experts weak in the knees, just as wins, batting average, speed, and defense are loved by the purported baseball cognoscenti. The Vikings also benefited from looking impressive while playing an exceedingly weak schedule -- ranked 31st by Sagarin before this weekend, Jeff hasn't yet updated -- though they are a very good 4-1 against the top-6.

However, the Vikings are only 15th in team efficiency, whereas the other three bye teams are first (Colts), second (Saints), and third (Chargers). On the most-likely-bye-team-to-lose, they potentially could have the toughest match-up in the fourth-ranked efficiency Eagles (who beat them last year in the playoffs as well). (Note: Obviously if the Pats wake up they'd be the toughest second round match-up, in my opinion.) What some people believe the Vikings to be, really hasn't been borne out on the field.

That said, the Vikings obviously have a ton of talent and could win the Super Bowl (Adrian Peterson plus that run defense gives one a chance).

Keith Bulluck is out for the year with a torn ACL.

I wasn't sure the Titans would against the Chargers before this and now there's little chance. Bulluck is still the second best player on the defense (behind Finnegan) and with Thornton banged up as well, we have no real backup. Bulluck is and has been for a long time one of the most underrated linebackers in the game.
