The Lakers? You're dead to me, Tim.

If it helps, I'll stop liking them the instant Phil leaves.

You don't say?

[expletive] off

Seems unnecessary.

When Phil left for the Lakers with Tex, Harper, and Grant it made me hate them even more.

Knowing the Bulls were hopeless my NBA related rooting went to whoever who was playing the Lakers. I've never actively rooted against a team more. When the Blazers and then the Kings a few years later totally gagged against them in the conference finals I was pretty livid.

I've been the same way. I was so pissed at game 7 vs. the Blazers and the Kings series. Oh and that Fisher miracle shot against the Spurs. I hated the Pistons ever since the late-80s but I had no problem rooting them on in 2004. I can't stand Kobe or Gasol and hated Malone too.

I guess a lot of it comes from living in LA and the Bulls sucking all decade.

<---- <3's Kobe and roots for him to win championship

Never have understood the hating a team or player thing, but the closest I've come is the Vikings (most annoying organization overall ever - wtf is that horn and their stadium is terrible) and Rajon Rondo.

It's really weird to be passionate enough about a coach to follow the team's he moves to.

not really

Yes, it is.

Unless it is a coach that coached you, or your kid, it's incredibly weird.

I don't really become a fan of a team, but I kind of pull for a coach who coached one of my teams. For instance, Jim Schwartz went from DC with the Titans to HC with the Lions and I kinda pull for the Lions to succeed now. I'm not a fan by any means, but I kind of hope he does well.

It'll be the same way with Fulmer if he takes another coaching job. I won't be a fan of the team he goes to, but I'll hope he does well at his new job.

not at all. following a coach because of their philosophy isn't weird at all. I'd say the likes of Phil Jackson, Belichek, and the like are good reasons to be fans of the teams they coach

that doesn't mean Tim isn't weird.

Phil Jackson once called me a classless punk after a high school soccer game.

It seems like there's a piece of this story missing.

Belichik has coached two teams, one successfully and one not. And he's just a complete jerk. Why would any sane person "follow" him to his next job and become a fan?

Yeah, like maybe Phil was right.

I watched as all the Packer fans in Iron Mountain, MI became Lions fans because Mariucci became their coach. Trust me, it was flat out, 100% weird. And they actually had some reason to do it.

They're all Packer fans again.

It's incredibly weird, and unsettling.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Although Bears coach Lovie Smith declined to talk about specific free-agent players Friday at the NFL scouting combine, he didn't rule out adding help at running back.

Brian Westbrook, the veteran running back who was released by the Philadelphia Eagles, volunteered his services.

"I would love to play in Chicago; I would love to play anywhere," Westbrook said on the "The Waddle & Silvy Show'' on WVMP-AM 1000. "They have a pretty good quarterback there; great defense. There's no question that I would love to definitely play in Chicago."

The Bears could use another multi-purpose back to help share the load with Matt Forte. Kevin Jones, Garrett Wolfe, and Kahlil Bell are still in the mix. Veteran backup Adrian Peterson doesn't expect to remain with the Bears.

"I've admired Matt's game from afar," Westbrook said. "He's a young guy, very talented. I like the way he runs. I like the way he plays the game. He plays with passion. He runs hard."

Westbrook would be a risk considering his history with concussions. But if healthy, he could be a great fit in offensive coordinator Mike Martz's scheme.
