I doubt Dirk is thinking that far ahead when an interview comes up but he knows Lebron teaming up with Wade/Bosh is basically lights out for the rest of the league while one of those guys (even James) going to Chicago doesn't really change much.

Say it with us, "I (spongeworthy) was obviously wrong about this."

I'm pretty flabbergasted that anyone would think Dirk's comment means absolutely anything.

They could've asked him the same thing about the Clippers, Knicks, or Nets and he's answer similarly. He's PR programmed not to make waves.

I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but the idea that Dirk's answer is meaningful is laughable.

And if you actually read the article it makes zero reference to whether the Bulls' attractiveness to free agents has been diminished by their string of crappy play relative to where they would be if they had continued to be decent and healthy. And that's all my point was anyway. The article is framed as a sliver of hope amidst a stretch of horrific basketball but Dirk isn't answering the question directly.

I admit that believing the Bulls are skirting the line of how bad a team can be before it starts to diminish their free agency aspirations, even very slightly, is a controversial opinion on NSBB.

How bad a team where all of their best players have been hurt can be.

Can you imagine a less likable 3 guard rotation than Kirk, Pargo, and Flip? [expletive] Vinny, Flip has had years to establish himself as an atrocious basketball player. Just play Law.

Oh well. James Johnson went full [expletive] mode in the last couple minutes but at least he showed some things.

Why the eff did Acie Law only play 10 minutes tonight? :banghead:

You gotta admit, it's kinda funny to see the Cavs only really try to win the game for a grand total of 5 minutes out of the 48 and come away with the win fairly easily at the end. LeBron sat for the first 6 minutes of the 2nd quarter, and the first 7 minutes of the 4th quarter. He remained seated when the Bulls came back to tie, and only when the Bulls took the lead with 6 minutes to go, did he get up to come back in. And when he stood up, it's not like they immediately called a time out. They waited calmly for a stoppage of action and in came LeBron. Within 5 seconds of him coming in the game, he already scored on an alley oop. In those 5-6 minutes to end the game he managed to put up 13 points, and turn a 2 point Bulls lead into a Cavs lead as big as 10 points. LOL Edited by UMFan83

DERRICK ROSE IS BACK!!!!! 12 points in his first 9 minutes back. Bulls lead Philly 21-14 early.

Oh and he nailed two 3's so far. Watch out NBA DRose is back. Did you get the memo?

I can't believe how badly this team needs Rose. Derrick simply makes his teammates so much better.

No doubt, but you can't dismiss the fact that for the first time in like 10 games, the Bulls played a sub-.500 team.

I understand that but for the four games he was out, the Bulls had lineups that included Pargo and Murray playing significan minutes. You can tell easily how bad this team needs Rose to stay healthy.

Derrick Rose has been so good that he has almost made games like the one he had tonight completely ho-hum...

Derrick's attempted 13 3s in the last two games? wtf

I haven't seen the games. Is he just taking them whenever the D is sagged off or is he actively looking for them off the dribble? Man, if he can shoot 35% or so on decent volume that would be deadly.
