I know some don't like him...and I do like Len and Bob a lot...but I have to say, watching that game last night made me a little nostalgic for "Swung on Belted"...I still like Chip Carey. Edited by moorecg

Yeah, thought he was pretty bad.

On that play where Raburn threw out Twins guy at home, Carey said "Base hit left field....caught and the throw" It was weird

Good thing he wasn't doing radio. He still seems a little over the top.

Then he said Raburn "evened the slate" by throwing the winning run out at home. That's wrong since he gave up the tying run by playing that single into a triple. Had he held Cuddyer at 1st maybe they win it right there.

Ewwwwwwwww. Didn't watch the game yesterday, but every time I'd flip through TBS and he was doing the Saturday afternoon game this season just the sound of his voice would make me cringe. He is so over the top and tries to make every play so important/game changing that everything he says just has no meaning. Never thought he was very good, but I think when he was in Chicago it didn't affect me as much because he was announcing for the Cubs and that drowned out everything else. But listening to him announce for neutral teams now I think he is terrible. In my opinion, he would have no shot at being an MLB announcer if it wasn't for his family tree.

I can't believe there were people who ever liked Chip Caray. What a horrible, horrible broadcaster.

I didn't mind him when he first showed up simply because he wasn't Harry, who I really couldn't stand at all for about the last decade he was on the mic. Once Len took over, however, it was like a light bulb clicked on with the idea of, "ohhhh, so THIS is a how a good announcer sounds."

Definitely need to lump Joe Buck into the nepotism lottery as well.

Not a big Joe Buck fan, but at least he's a technically competent broadcaster.

He's still a smarmy doucherocket, though.

Agree 100% on both counts.

This will forever be the best phrase to describe Joe Buck. No one else need try.

Well done!
